Enchanted Arms is an RPG that feels like the developers got bored halfway through and stopped trying. The game starts off good with a creative battle system, silly but charming voice acting, and a decent plot. But there are some real flaws that will turn off some gamers. The voice acting is dodgy, okay in some parts but horrid in others. The environments the player can explore seem rather small and one-dimensional - in other words, they don't fit with the scope of the world that the game tries to convey. The group of heroes is okay, but like the environments are very stereotyped and not fleshed out very well. The saving grace of this game is the grid-like battle system and the numerous 'Golem' creatures that you can add to your party. If the game developers had spent more time on character, plot, and locale design, it could have been great. As it is, this game is only worth picking up to kill time until something better comes along.

    Not a bad game.

The gameplay is the best part about this game. For those who like a stratgey turn based game would like the way the battles are fought. The golem creation system was especially great, with a LOT of options to create teammates to fight alongside you. The game was not too hard most of time if you don't go out of your way to not fight random battles but the some the bosses do provide a decent amount of challenge, especially the final boss and the optional bosses. If you're not going for the optional bosses and dungeon than its not a grind heavy game as long you put some though into your battles. The soundtrack is pretty though it can get a little repetitive. The story's not bad, average really, but it has its charms. The graphics were also average for its time. The worst thing about this game for me was some of the characters. To me, a lot of their dialogues and personalities were cringy and annoying which is bad because since its an jrpg you need to have good characters since you'll be spending a lot of time with them. Overall, however, I still enjoyed the game because its combat system overshadowed a lot of the problems. Its a definite recommendation to those who like strategy rpgs, especially since its so cheap now.

It starts off slowly, but you learn everything you need to know off the bat. The fighting style is grid based and is done quite well on a turn by turn basis. You get into the story, the adventure, the crazy bosses. Then you realize that the entire game is becoming progressively easier instead of harder. Then by the end, you're angry because the final scene sucks, and you're left wondering where the real challenge was.

I'm not a hardcore "fan boy" that has to own EVERY game the second that it comes out, BUT, I do try to keep up with the popular titles of the day. I don't know how, but for some reason, Enchanted Arms was never on my radar..... I just picked it up 2 days ago and I LOVE IT! I've only been playing like 2 hours (still in the annoying "tutorials" stage) and I can't believe how awsome it is already. Golems, wierd powers, and a unique combat system that was easy to pick up on, even for a casual gamer like myself. I know other, more popular games came out around the time of this one (FF, Dark Souls, etc), but this title NEEDS to be owned by anyone that considers themself an RPG gamer. Beautiful graphics, wonderful sound, great gameplay and an ALREADY compelling story make this one a top pick in my book. Also, it was like 5 bucks, CAN'T BEAT THAT!!!! : )

This game starts off slow. After awhile it does work out the boring parts and becomes a pretty good game. The charcters are made to be likeable. You don't mind spending time playing as them. As of now I have not got done with no more than 13 percent of the game. Nice How it tells you. I am looking forward to playing the game to its end. My only complaint is that you can't walk more than a few steps without getting to the fight screen. I guess that you need to improve you stats but it takes time.

really enjoyed this game! It is a breath of fresh air in the RPG genre. I do not understand why some people did not like it. First off the graphics are gorgeous... Sharp, crisp & coloful. I liked the characters & voice acting very much! You have four core characters during your adventure. They really grow on you as the story progresses. The story itself is FANTASTIC! Also the game is HUGE! This is not a game you wiill finish in a day! The weapons synthesis system is a lot of fun but the GOLEM sysnthesis is what really makes the game. You can create golems & use them in your party! There are 130 of them to find during your adventure. Each has unique abilities so certain ones are effective against certain enemy types and so on... The battle engine is addictive & a lot of fun. The sixaxis feature of the controller is used also! At times in battle it is used to gain more experience points through motion. The battles are turn based but FAR from tedious. All in all this is one of my favorite RPG games! I have enjoyed like Final Fantasy, star ocean,Kingdomhearts,Dark Cloud ,Xenosaga,Phantasy Star so I know my RPG games. I highly recommend you give this a try!!!
