This game has geart easy controls and you really feel like your in the moblie suite its pretty cool. The gundams handle nice in other gundam games they feel clanky. Ever thing looks really great and outer space is pretty cool. Plays just like a any other dynasty warrior game so you can just pick it up and play it. All the voice acting is spot on. I wish they had moblie suites from stardust like GPO2 that would be cool.

Best Gundam game yet

This game got alot of unnecessary hate, why I'm not sure, but make no mistake if you're a gundam fan like me then you'll love this game. The story for the game could have been better made but the gameplay is fun. It does however act like the dynasty warriors gameplay in that it gets rather repetitive at points in the game. Oh and the game may start off easy at first but it gets alot more challenging in later levels. The selection of gundams you can pilot is great. The graphics for the game are also superb and the most all of the voice actors from the gundam series voice their respective characters so no worries there. Bottom line, if you like gundam, dynasty warriors, and/or giant mech action games than this is definitely the game for you!

For a Dynasty Warriors fan, this is not very different. Instead of Samurai's and Chinese Warriors, you are a bunch of giant robots, which isn't much of a difference. For Gundam fans you're probably 50/50 on this one. Admit it: most gundam games are beyond awful. Example: Mobile Suit Gundam: Crossfire. Awful game. But this series managed to change that. Fortunately for me, I'm a fan of both. Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2 is the best Gundam game ever. The Dynasty Warriors engine for gameplay suits it best: A giant robot in space destroying armies by the hundreds. The game has two modes: Official and Mission modes. It does have a versus mode, online mode and a gallery mode, but face it, you're getting this for the story modes. The Official mode covers the Universal Century storyline (Moble suit Gundam, Z Gundam, ZZ Gundam and Char's Counter Attack) and allows you to play as Amuro Rey, Char Aznable, Kamille Bidan, Judau Ashta and others as you play through actual battles in the series. I love the fact that they increased the amount of moves for the mobile suits and provided story line between battles for those of you who have not seen the story. Plus, fighting Psycho Gundam is pure fun! Now for Mission mode. Mission mode allows you to play as other heroes and villains from the franchise(G Gundam, Gundam Wing, Turn-A Gundam, Gundam F91, Victory Gundam and Gundam Seed Destiny) in story modes personalized for each character (A great improvement, btw). Now here comes my one and only complaint: No out-of-battle-conversation-voice-overs. Now for most people, that's a problem. but to people like me who said that the NES and Super NES were the greatest systems ever, we say this: suck it up and read. Graphics were better than your typical Koei standard. While they left the whole Field system in, they made up for it with detailed environments in story mode. With who-knows-how-many (Very Beautiful) Mobile Suits to choose from(it was a great pleasure annihilating an army of gundams with a ball) this game easily beats it's predecessor into submission. I highly reccommend it to Anyone who is interested.

A gem from Koei

I've been playing the dynasty warriors series since its inception and while I have never watched a single episode of Gundam this game is a lot of fun for someone who enjoys the Dynasty warriors series. The amount of unlockable content is staggering. I've logged a little over 40 hours and I'm not even close to getting a quarter of the content unlocked. They have a mission generator with "mission" mode which randomly generates maps and opponents along with allies so replayability is almost infinite. Pilot levels are capped at 50 and there are quite a few different pilots to play. You won't run out of things to do. They have included these giant mechanical suits as what I refer to as "Boss Battles" which kick up the difficulty quite a bit and make you have to change from your standard juggling act from previous titles when you looked for a way to juggle opponents. The controls are very responsive and fluid with no framerate loss even when boosting which is like hitting the turbo. (this was the ps3 version) Voice acting sometimes can get a little repetitive but all characters have a set of canned phrases they say so everyone has a "personality"?The storyline in "official" mode seemed a bit hackneyed but you don't really buy a game like this for the story. You do it to kill 1000 opponents and mow down your enemies like grass in a well timed symphony of death. Being I'm not a Gundam fan perhaps my opinion on the story aspect isn't fair. There are two main modes of play: Official and Mission. Official is similar to the contemporary dynasty warrior where you follow a set number of missions on a linear path where the story is told which culminates in the final mission. This also usually results in unlocking a character or unlocking a new set of mission series for the same character. Mission mode is a bit different. You are given what seems to be random missions in which you choose from a list of categories like "Friends" "Storyline" "Liscenses" "Free" etc. You progress through a variety of missions which lead to new trees of missions to play through which may result in you getting to unlock a specific mech operators license. The new thing introduced is player character and npc relationships. Based on if a character flew on the same side or against and either was shot down or survived the mission effects how NPCs view your character from slobbering idol worship to hating your guts. Now while this may be cool enough for some, another factor is relationships with certain characters also effect which trees of mission and mech liscences you will be able to unlock. You blow up Char too many times and you won't get to unlock and play with his mechs that he pilots in the official mode. This is all correctable in certain missions in the "friendship mode". There is no apparent end to mission mode. If there is I haven't found it yet. You can continue to fly again and again with the same guy infinitely.I could go on and on but let me just summarize by saying that this is a fun game. You don't have to know jack squat about the Gundam series. The game is cool. If you like character development, customizing your giant pilotable robot of death at the expense of blowing up friends and allies which laughing maniacally then this is for you.

WOW Gundams ...
Kira & Freedom

Okay, for all you BIG time Gundams Fan like me, I'm sure you played that first one for PS3. i must say that if you just liked that one, then you'll love this! Gundams take this game and put it up onto a WHOLE new level. I've put about 24 hours of time in already and I have found out a enough to now say i can tell you all about the goods and bads of this game. first, MISSION mode, RULES! you get to play as Heero and Domon Still, but now you have the great Kira and Shin from Gundam Seed. you can play not only as the new Gundams, but in the game you get parts and get to make new MS if you get all the parts (note its only 5 needed) and then you can play as them and go around beating up the wing Gundam in a Zaku, i'll say that was fun to watch the first time. next you can just groups in this one like if your playing as herro, and u can become a New-Type, and join in the gundam fights with master Asia. the game is cool and looks great in game. the storys i'll say are alittle short, but with all the other stuff to do it makes up for it and more. plus with all the online VS. mode that makes this game even more fun knowing you and your Gundam can now fight the world to see whos the best! and you now longer get to fight with just other gundams and MS's now.. u can take on the Dark Gundam and Big Zame, its all so cool being able to fight bigger things then you. and for all you gundam fans this is a must have if u like playing around and proving your gundam is the best. they even changed the way your gundam fights and i think its better like this. you can make your gundam stronger as u play and unlock a ton of things, but for what i have done... i'm maybe 1% through the whole game so you want a game that will last long for a good price thats this game right here, and if u just like the DW set, then you should at lest try this game... i'm sure once u play it, you'll buy it!

Great game..if you're a Gundam fan !

Like the title says, its a great game..but thats if you are a gundam fan. Most people will find this game VERY repetitive. And it is for the most part. But if you are a gundam fan like myself, you will find that this is probably the best gundam game in the entire franchise. There is a large number of pilots and mobile suits to choose from. As for length of the game, id have to say this game absolutely massive in terms of length and achievements. So if you pick up this game and you want to get 100% trophies and achievements, look forward to racking up a large amount of play time. The action in the game grew on me really fast, and i ended up liking the game more than i thought i would. It really is a great addition to the Gundam hack and slash game franchise. Also, there are a lot of game reviews that are already bashing the game. Sure, they may not like it because they most likely arent fans of the gundam series. But if you are, I am 100% positive you will enjoy this game ! So go out and get it while you still can ! This game will be hard to find in a few months I guarantee as well !
