One of my favourite games of all time! One of the top psone games, period. The best graphics I ever saw on the system. Every village, city or "dungeon" is unique in its own way and the visuals are always lush. Aways! During the battle the camera moves all the time and makes the battles look as dramatic as no other psone game does. I love the battle system for being so different and the spells (elements) are a blast! The sound is great and the game has it's memorable tracks as every classic should (check out Chrono Cross' opening and battle gameplay on youtube and you'll get a better idea of the production values). The story takes significant turns depending on your choices and you'll have to finish the game mutiple times to see all of it's endings and events. Bottom line: DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GET THIS!

Lost in TimeThe game tries to connect itself to its astounding predecessor but fails in almost every way. The game fails more or less on the large number of party characters you acquire but hardly any of them ever get any exposition except their initial joining your party. They stick characters of a large variety with you that are under developed or not developed at all and are tacked on for nearly no purpose at all. At a certain point of the game, you get a 360 headspin in the story, you'll know what it is when you get to it, and when you do no one even talks about it, it's like, meh. And eventually the game tries to tie everything neatly together with the original Chrono Trigger near the end almost as if they forgot about it. The only thing that saves this game is the gameplay, and mild portions of the main plot. I hardly call this a spiritual successor, more like a game made with a title similar to Chrono Trigger, with a vague attempt to try and connect the two which ultimately turns nonsensical. I will not play this game a second time, but it is an interesting game the first time with amazing cinematics and sound.
