Fun game with some cons

It is a genuinely good game. The price, not so much because it does cause neck strain at least for me and the game keeps shifting to the left or right so that you will always have to turn your neck or have to recalibrate it. Otherwise it is a fun game overall

Labo VR Made Me A Convert To The Labo Concept

I was initially skeptical of Nintendo Labo in general, but I showed interest in the VR Kit when it was first announced. After purchasing it and putting it together, I am now a convert when it comes to Labo. I can definitely see the potential for encouraging and inspiring people of all ages to pursue a path in STEM using Labo. In the case of the VR Kit itself, it shows great potential, but I feel a head strap is necessary if you want to use the VR Kit for certain parts of the Labo VR game and other Nintendo Switch games that are VR compatible. The graphics for the Labo VR game are simplistic and low-res compared to VR games on PC, but are still charming in their own way. And the game gives you ample instruction on how to construct each part of the kit. While not necessarily as sophisticated as other VR headsets on the market, such as the HTC Vive, the Oculus Rift, PlayStation VR, or the Microsoft HoloLens, the Labo VR Kit has a unique charm to it that I feel will help give players the inspiration to pursue fields in STEM, and give Nintendo the experience to eventually release better VR headsets in the future.

I love the idea behind the labo kits and things one is especially appealing but.....I dislike the cardboard element of them, after my 7 year old plays with them a few times you can really tell that they won't last forever. It would be nice to see some sort of recycled plastic corrugate that could bend like cardboard but would stand up to playing better.

The Labo VR kit requires a certain amount of commitment. When one of the instructional videos tells you that a particular item will require an hour and a half to 2 hours to complete, you best believe it. That having been said, the VR is more or less solid. Landscapes seem awe-inspiring as you fly through the air int he Bird game. A feeling of satisfaction wells up within you as you show those alien invaders that Earth is not for their kind in the Blaster game. You marvel at the almost realistic looking fish as you work to find the best angle in the Camera game. Many of the games in the VR plaza are simply toys that can be played around for no more purpose than "Oh look, VR, oooooo." But if that's what you purchased the kit for, you missed the point. The Toy Cons function well (if assembled correctly) and seem rather durable. Certain choices are a mystery such as choosing not to include a system by which to strap the headset to your head (I purchased one from a separate company) and forcing one to use certain Toy Cons just to speed up the pace in the Bird game feels unnecessary. Nevertheless, for the price, this is a marvelous introduction or continuation into the world of VR. I certainly hope that Nintendo will try to incorporate more VR into the Switch's lineup in the future.

Q:
Will this work with the new Nintendo Switch Lite?
Sarasgjtcbj2 years ago
A:
No. It's designed in a way that requires you to remove the joycons from the switch, which you can't do with the lite. Even if you have some extra joycons, you'd still need to remove the ones connected to the switch.

All of it except the piece that holds the lenses and the lenses. It’s very high quality cardboard though, and isn’t gonna break anytime soon. In my experience it’s very robust and nice
