This game was my entry point to the tales series in 2017 on the xbox360. It was a cute, dorky game with a ton of tropes and before I knew it I'd sunk 300+ hours. So when I heard the remaster was coming to Nintendo switch my heart leapt for joy and it was the first game I bought for the console. Seeing the game again with more story features, extra side quest, and our good friend nostalgia all while being able to take it with me on the go was a dream come true. My brother makes fun of me for having so many hours put into this game. And while I do still love the game the remaster leaves something's to be desired, namely the protagonist's original voice actor not being asked to reprise the role. Troy Baker really sold a lot of us old hands on the protagonist, Yuri Lowell, and to not have him in the REMASTERED edition feels cheap. This is not the say Grant George did a bad job, he did a great job within strict confines. But whenever his lines appear in game they sound forced due to the added pressure of having someone else mimic the original voice. All of this to say really is, bamco we do notice and we do care. - love, fans

I just received this game today in the mail and it was supposed to be a brand-new copy. Unfortunately, the copy that I was sent had already been unwrapped and was not a new copy. Disappointed by this and with GameStop. I wonder what they say about opened new games that come back for a return, do they accuse you of opening it and refuse the return? I gave the game 3 stars because I had already played it on the 360 and it was fantastic. Bought the physical Switch copy because I wanted to have a copy of it to play and at some point, enjoy the definitive edition. But I would have also like to unwrap the BRAND-NEW GAME on my own, did not need your help with that one GameStop....

As a Tales fan I can honestly say this game is pretty fun and engaging. Has a lot of similarities to others I've played but the story is great to go through. The characters have a wonderful background story and the skill sets are just awesome to use. The only negative thing I can think of is that you can only use 4 characters in battle at a time, where as other Tales games you can use up to six. So at times you will feel indecisive of whom to add to your roster since there is 8 characters to choose from sometimes. As the progress of the story goes on, some of the characters come and go from the group so the indecision is not a big deal as long as you have a healer on the team at all times. The bosses are fun and incredibly challenging. They will truly test you in patience and obervation towards the stratergy that is required to change in accordance to each encounter. One thing I've come to love of Tales games is that the dungeon maps are easy to navigate and fun to explore. Also, you want to keep your characters at a higher level(which all level up regarless if they're fighting or not) than the enemies in the area the story is taking you through. So I suggest fighting every enemy you encounter from the get go. Synthesizing your own material is cheaper than buying it from the shops so farming for material really helps trying to level up your characters to an advantage point. If you've played any Tales game before, then you will learn how to play this game in no time.

Im more of a fan of the older Tales of games, but this one is pretty good. Plus having a Tales of game on a mobile device is fantastic.
