This game is awesome. It is arguably the best game I've ever bought for the DS. The DS version is perfect, it just has a classic monopoly board and has a very clean look. Even the trading and negotiating menu is very clean. There are no "mini games" but there's no need for them. The customization of this game is awesome! You can turn auctions on/off, customize free parking (taxes y/n to free parking), and make landing on go $400 instead of just $200. The only complaint I have is that the Income Tax takes away $200 and doesn't give the player an option to take the 10% option instead. That is why this version is 99.9% authentic. There isn't any online play, only local play (your friend needs a cartridge too; no DS download); however, you can play w/ multiple people but you have to pass a single DS btwn each person. The sound/music is okay. It never changes and becomes bland, but it isn't that bad. Usually I end up on my bed/couch listening to music/watching tv while playing Monopoly. This is a great game, though when my AI opponents are on "Hard" they tend to get better rolls than me. When AI opponents are on "Normal" I cream them. I like that I can play Monopoly wherever I go (b/c it's on a DS) and I don't have to beg my mom/friends to play with me (b/c of AI's).
I PLAY THIS WITH MY NEIGHBOR ALL THE TIME, ITS A BLAST. IF YOU PLAY WITH A FRIEND THEY HAVE TO HAVE A COPY OF THE GAME TO PLAY TOO.
if you like the board game of it then you will love this.Its so much fun and you don't have to deal with money. just buy it all ready.
I got this game as a Christmas gift. At first it was a bit confusing, but once you figure out all the buttons it is really fun. The only thing i dislike is the music gets really boring after a while. Although, it is not as good asa monopoly streets for WII it still is great. Perfect game for car rides!
