AKIBA'S TRIP: Undead & Undressed is an open-world action RPG in which players undertake numerous missions in a virtual recreation of Akihabara, Tokyo's popular ”Electric Town” district. The player's goal is to identify vampires called “Synthisters” with the help of an in-game smartphone app, then engage them in battle to strip their clothes off so their bodies are fully exposed to sunlight. Boasting a unique combat system in which everyday objects become weapons, multiple story routes, a varied cast of characters based on common anime and video game tropes and a narrative dripping with social satire and subtle nods to Japanese pop culture, AKIBA'S TRIP is a present-day supernatural adventure for the gamer in all of us.

Great job!I'm thankful that GameStop still carry vita games. Even though it's a dying console. Keep up the good work.

An otaku saviorOVERVIEW: The city of Akiba, once a normal-ish place for otaku everywhere, is taken over by vampires. Their is only one way to save the people of Akiba from these monsters. How? short and simple: Strip these vampires. The player must go over Akiba and defeat these vampires by stripping their clothes by attacking them with everyday items an otaku can find in Akiba. Saving the city has never been this funny and embarrassing. GAMEPLAY: The player is given the role of a male otaku who has been transformed into an artificial vampire and must help the people of Akiba with his new found strength. There are two parts of this game: Story and Fighting. During the story the player is given choices that will affect the story in some way, such as changing certain scenarios, so choose wisely. During the fighting a player must strip synthisters (the vampires) of their clothing making them burn in direct sunlight. To do the job quicker their are a variety of weapons to choose from and the player can pick whichever they are comfortable with. If the player is stripped of their clothing... well lets just say that they will die of embarrassment ....literally. POSITIVES: Players can see the city of Akiba and see the most famous locations it has to offer. When it comes to its content, Akiba's Trip: Undead Undressed offers many humorous moments that will keep the player entertained. Once the player has beaten the game, they are given the option of customizing their character even allowing to change the gender. NEGATIVES: If the player chooses a very high difficulty when starting the game it becomes very difficult during fighting. Think of it as 1 vs 5 and that getting the player's character stripped is very easy. Camera angles become a problem during fighting, especially in narrow spaces, since the player cannot see the enemy and becoming more vulnerable of getting stripped. There are glitches in the game as well such as not being able to find a specific person for the story to progress. OVERALL: This game is very addicting as well as very entertaining. highly recommend for anyone who is an otaku.

Good for casual and hardcore fans alike! The multitude of customization options, ton of different possible outcomes and the huge, accurate map of akihibara all contribute to make this game truly entertaining. It manages to pack in so much fun in one playthrough that you'll end up coming back again and again to discover new outcomes. Casual players will be able to enjoy it at face value and hardcore gamers have the 'otaku' option to make the game into a grindfest. To fully enjoy this game, you'll want to be at least a little familiar with japanese animation/otaku lifestyle.

Fun, Challenging and Great for Anime LoversMy first impression of this game was here's a game for Anime fans with little to no challenge and no strategy. Just beat foes or with things we use on every from laptops, briefcases to broom sticks then rip of their close to defeat them. The more i played there more to this game, the further you go your character choice if battle style is up to you and what abilities you unlock by completing battle missions and improve your rank. Also there's the hundreds of weapons you find that can be upgraded to your thirst for attack or speed along with armor improvement. That's just your character choice of style, skills and Appearance. The progression of difficulty in enemy combat continues to grow and become more challenging. This forces you to change your battle strategy and how you approach each enemy and use your stripping chains to help you overcome certain opponents. As for the main characters there are a few that are very forgettable but being any anime based game adult humor and funny comments while make you laugh/crack a smile as for the plot of the game without spoilers. An evil organization has turn you in the man-made vampire that was saved by a girl that becomes your partner and helps you understand what has happened. You and your friends become a task force that has to rid the world of this organization and the henchmen. In a nut shell that’s what this game is about. Its great and it has tones of replay value due to the tones of side missions. Great game go pick it up

Good game for Anime fansI'll try to focus on things I personally look for in reviews. Straight up, if you don't like anime, you aren't going to enjoy this, simply enough no?
Ok, so the primary thing in this game is combat, the story revolves around defeating your opponent; sidequests vary slightly to taking pictures of this, finding these clothes, talking to this person. The combat, revolves around hitting a body part (head, torso, or legs) until it's ready to be broken. Then you want to strip them and chain strip as many as possible until all your foes are stripped, once you reach a combo of 8+ strips, then you will get a special cinematic and a final button press to strip your foes completely naked (of course with bright light censoring) which will net you their undergarments. Now then, aside from sidequests, story, there's an arena; aside from that, that's pretty much it.
Subsequent playthroughs become faster and easier as you level your gear up through a simple and easy-to-use fusion system.
Voices: Personally, I didn't mind the English voices except for Nana (little sister). Not so much that it was bad (except for that "inhuman monster" line) but it just doesn't fit her appearance IMHO.
Now then, the heroines, to avoid spoilers, they're interesting; although three of their routes are a bit identical, in that the final events are nigh the exact same.
After beating the game, you unlock methods to play as different character models, switch voices, and such. There are a lot of weapons and clothes to collect in the game. Being defeated isn't a problem, as it starts you right back on the world map right before the battle. That said, there is no autosaving, so don't turn off the vita in rage or something.
Now, I have to say the not so great parts. Three of the heroine routes feel identical to each other, in that they have the same three out of five events. The fourth heroine route is completely unique and IMHO the absolutely best route. However, each heroine has her own true ending which is going to be difficult to achieve until your second playthrough where you can see what dialogue options will influence what heroines, and among those, there are probably only 10 or so options that actually matter.
Combat: Combat will get a little frustrating at times because of the weird targeting and occasional slowdown. In some of the larger battles, expect slowdown on the vita, (I do not know if this exists in other versions) not terrible slowdown, but it does exist, during strip combos, you may have to tap the button twice because the first didn't register. During combat, your counter may not go off; things like that. The targeting issues are simple, it seems to target whoever you are pushing the stick towards, but when you are fighting 7 people, and four of them are bunched together, it can be a nuisance.
Overall still enjoyable. If you are on the fence and I didn't persuade, wait til a price drop around 30$.
I almost forgot time. Short. I can say this which is recorded in the game for me. "Total play time: 31:14:32. Fastest play time 2:51:54. Times cleared: 5." After my first playthrough, on Gamer (Hard) I've played on the casual (normal) difficulty, so needless to say, after your first clear, it's pretty fast if you skip dialogue or use your leveled up gear and play on normal. All of this said, for those who care, this is the time I put in, and I'm only missing 4 trophies, 3 of which are easy to get and the fourth is to win on Otaku (hardest) difficulty.
Whew, first review, hopefully I answered everything, wish this thing had better formatting. IN THE END; IF YOU ARE STILL ON THE FENCE AFTER THIS REVIEW, WAIT FOR A PRICE DROP. IF NOT, PICK IT UP, IT'S A FUN GAME WITH LOTS OF WEAPONS, CLOTHES, AND CUSTOMIZATION, EVEN DOWN TO HOW YOU WALK AND STRIP ENEMIES.
