One of the best Yugi oh I've ever playedThis game got basics of what I look for in a Yu gi oh game. It has ways to collect cards are simple; you fight battles and win points and then trade them in for cards of all named series since the beginning. Battle easy ones until you get good cards but you get low points. A great way to start. There is a percentage collected for each series which is good you won't always get new cards but it seems like a 25 percent chance to get something new until you get 100 % collection. I liked the early Yugioh card series so this is perfect for me. Mirror Force, Swords of Revealing light, Black hole, Raigeki, Magic Cylinder are all classic cards that never die. I don't like the new Yugioh that much except for the Synchro cards. Summon up monsters easier is a fun way to play Yugioh. You battle all the different styles which is exciting with different characters. This game has all I ever look for in a yugioh game. I wish they'd create new 3DS games based on this Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Duel Transer style. That way I can play the new 3DS games without having to miss out.

I expected more. This game is definitely a refresher after the failure of Wheelie Breakers but this is not mush better. It definitely is all about dueling but it's lacking major elements that the DS games have and improvements that the Wii should include: there is no monster combat (other than the major one from the 5d's series), you see the characters but it's just words on a screen (no voices), in a duel, you see the characters take damage but the combat from the monsters (which are still not shown) is based only on their attribute, not carried weapon, power, etc., player movement in the story is like that on a gameboard: rolling a dice (a roulette in this) and moving the spaces you rolled, deck names have to be super short, even though the computers have longer names for their decks, and you're only given a few set avatars to choose from in the beginning, rather than choose the face, hair, outfit, etc. yourself like in the DS games. The only upsides are: the epic showings of the popular monsters from the 5d's series, the damage the characters take (both of which have great graphics), and the fact that this game focuses on dueling. Overall, the cons majorly outweigh the pros. This'll keep a kid satisfid for a while but it will be a dissapointment to hardcore Yu-Gi-Oh! players. Save your money and hope Konami comes out with something better in the future.
