The Best One Yet.I purchased this game in November 2008 when this game came out, Not much had changed because of the fact that most of the wrestlers were the same, but The game is SICK! Mostly I like the part that you can actually do the entrances, the con of that is that it looks to fake when your not doing it(like when the opponent comes out, which is the computer) The graphics are also good, and the variety of wrestlers is huge, but the camera angle is bad. when I try to pick up the steel steps from the side (bottom right of the ring) you can barely see your wrestler. The online matches are also sick, but it takes to long to find someone. I also like the fact that there are funny glitches when you try to powerbomb etc. but there is another con, the game can be more challenging. From my perspective, expert mode is kind of easy once you get used to it, But yea, I recommend this game.

Nothin SpecialI was excited when I first got it, but then after you beat all of that stuff like Road to Wrestle Mania it really starts to get boring. Sure there is Wi-Fi after you get good and play with people online but eventually that starts getting old then you don't feel like playin it no more. The Road to Wrestle Mania is okay but then you have to play as all of those people and then that soon goes from fun to a pain in the ass. Even though it's only for the Wii, the graphics could atleast be a little bit better. The graphics kinda sucks it's like PS2 graphics there not that great. Another thing that I don't get at all is that there is no Manager Mode. That used to be so fun until I got it all you can do is Career Mode that's it. Smackdown vs Raw 2009 is one of the biggest let downs ever. If you're reading this right now I'm just going to warn you DON'T BUY THIS!!!! this will be a huge waste of money

ZE CRITIC from
it was better than last timeit was a great contrast to 08' as it had much better controls but it lacked a long story mode and there were NO legends at all which is really disappointing rest was great the superstar entrance is my favorite its great the way u have 2 shake the remote i own the game on my ps2 as well and i like this one better but instead of wasting your money on this i would prefer smack down shut Ur mouth whose story line was LONG. this not too bad nor too good. there is no create a finisher like on other consoles and inferno match which would have been cooler there are not many moves and you cant store a signature move though the controls are a lot easier but i haven't yet figured out how to sprint. the graphics are kind of better than 08 or maybe the same and the commentators say the same stuff all the time. i would give it an eight.

Great game for the WiiSmackdown vs Raw 2009 is a great game for the Wii. The graphics are better than 2008's version of the game when ti first came out for the Wii. There are more new characters which gives us more moves for our use. My favorite additions were Kofi Kingston and the Road to Wrestlemania. What was really disappointing was that the Wii didn't get Create a Finisher mode like the other systems did. However, create a superstar did seem a bit better than last years selection of choices. I also like how you can choose between Raw, Smackdown, Ecw, Legend, or WCW for a show. And you can edit who is on what show. so you can make the rosters accurate after every draft. Also, a really big disappointment was taking The Rock and Stone Cold out of the game. If you wanna play as them, you'll have to bring out 2008. Online gameplay is great. I barely get lags, and my connection never fails me for this game. The only bad part is, if your opponent disconnects during anytime in the match and you didn't get the 3 count or a submission, you don't win your match. Instead, you'll return to the menu, and it will say your opponent has disconnected and you get no points for it. It really disappoints me when an opponent disconnects in the match. Come on guys. Lose with pride. Also, the career mode isn't that much fun. All you do is compete for number one contender matches and face the champion at the pay per view. Its quite boring. Only the Road to Wrestlemania gives you a story mode, and only about 6 superstars have a story. The career doesn't give you that "pissed off" feeling when someone comes from behind and smacks you with a chair. There is not even any cutscenes during career. Overall, it is a great wrestling game for the Wii.

incredible gameThis is a great game but it is missing things like the create a finisher and they are missing a lot of matches including the brand new inferno match which I am dieing to play but they still have great matches to play and the tag team moves are out of this house and they include the road to wrestlemania which has a great story line which includes 6 of the best superstars in the wwe. And each superstar has its own storyline which is great. They made a great roster of wwe superstars with more then 60 wwe superstars. They made the game so cool to swig the wii remote to punch someone and I love the new double team moves like when Matt hardy does the TWIST OF fate then Jeff hardy does the swanton bomb. I say that you should buy this game because it is a very fun game with cool things in it.

If u like wwe buy itNovember 8, 2008 - Wrestling and the PlayStation 2 go together like peanut butter and jelly, cookies and milk, and Ryan Clements and apologies. However, as the system continues to age, quality opportunities to lay the smack down are becoming more and more rare. This year, THQ and Yuke's have brought WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2009 to a smattering of platforms, and the PlayStation 2 hasn't been ignored. While it's true that this PS2 version is just a stripped down rendition of what fans are getting on the PlayStation 3, this is definitely a step up from last year's title even though this franchise is nowhere near what it used to be on Sony's second system. On paper, it seems like SVR 09 should cruise to wrestling game greatness. The title packs more than 60 wrestlers, 14 one-on-one match types including the new Inferno option, a new story mode, better AI, and a focus on tag teams. However, when you get into the punching, grappling, and slamming that make up the game, the world begins to feel like well worn territory and begins to look muddled. In the end, we have a game that improves on last year's outing in a number of ways but falls short of returning SVR to its place of honor on the PS2. Where there's smoke, there's an Inferno Match video.Don't get me wrong, SVR 09 is a fun game. The solid controls from last year are back -- left stick to move, right stick to grapple, reversals via the shoulder buttons, and so on -- and come with a few minor touches such as the game flashing "Signature Move" when you can set off a stored special as well as the ability to enter the ring via the steel steps. These are welcome additions, but it's pretty much exactly what you saw last year. Still, there are a handful of other bells and whistles to grab your attention. For starters, the AI in SVR 09 doesn't suck for a change. On Legend, the computer's still going to be reversal heavy, but it's also going to store Finishers, break up pins in tag matches, and basically give you a run for your money. If you're not happy with how the AI is acting, SVR 09 finally gives us sliders to adjust the game's thinking. You can make Finishers more or less powerful, you can adjust how much the computer reverses, and you can even modify momentum rates. Customization like the sliders is a theme in this game. While you're messing with menu, a smattering of entrance music is playing as a soundtrack. If you don't like a particular song, you can press in your left stick and skip to the next track. Via the game's Roster Editor, you can mold the WWE as you see fit with a few button clicks -- change what brand people are on, give and take away championships, decide who is clean and who is dirty. There are alternate attires for the likes of CM Punk, Rey Mysterio, Chris Jericho, and others; there are 19 arenas; and you can unlock the WCW brand and classic championship. Of course, this wouldn't be a professional wrestling game if it didn't add some new gimmick matches. The Inferno Match is an interesting bout that looks good but always ends a bit silly. You and your opponent duke it out in a ring where the edges are set ablaze. As you pull off moves, the flames leap and the temperature in the lower left corner rises. When the magic number reaches 500 degrees, you're supposed to drag your opponent to the ropes and toss him (Divas still can't participate in the crazy match types) into the fire. When one of you is successful -- there's a button-tapping minigame to try and reverse the strong-grapple dragging -- a body flies over the ropes and that guy's clothing is set one fire. It looks a bit goofy to see CM Punk rolling around with his ass on fire, but it's still a fun (albeit simple) fight. Meanwhile, THQ and Yuke's dropped the Parking Lot Brawl from previous games and replaced it with the Backstage Brawl. Here, you can fight in a KO-only match in the locker room or the gorilla position. There are objects to interact with in these areas, but they're pretty barren in gen

The best Wii fighting game of the year so far.Hello fellow GameStop shoppers and SmackDown vs.RAW franchise fans. The first thing I have to say about SvR09 is that this game, in my opinion, is the best Wii game of the year so far. I've got to say the game creators really outdid themselves this time on the Wii version with refined graphics that look better than last year's SvR08 for the Wii. They have a ton of new features including their match types they went from SvR08's K.O., normal, tag and hardcore matches to over 32 new matches in SvR09. The all new road to wrestlemania is an enjoyable game mode, but for me it was pretty long. It was a twelve week story mode. That is three months until wrestlemania. They also have an all new camera angle which is pretty cool. You can now come into the ring by walking up the steel steps which I also think is really cool. This year they have all new weapons including: the trash can, kendo stick, sludge hamer, steel chair, table, which you are able to burn with any superstar no longer having to be hardcore because this year there are no fighting styles, barbed wire bat which you can also light on fire with your finisher, steel steps, the ladder, the fire extinguisher, the title, the ring bell, the weapons you get from the crowd which are the crutches, the water bottle, and in the back stage brawls which are also new match types having to choose from back stage brawl and locker room brawl the weapons there include the guitar and many of the other weapons I've mentioned its the same thing with the ECW Extreme rules match which its only new weapon being the thumb tacks which is really cool. They also have the title match feature where you can now compete for any WWE title including one WCW title the classic WCW World Title. The online feature is great although its biggest and personally only flaw in my opinion was the no interactive entrances in online. One my favorite new features was the my WWE feature where you can change which brands any superstars at brands including SmackDown, RAW, ECW, WWE legend, Even Company WCW and you could also choose to make them free Agents which means they're not at any Brand and in this feature you can change who's champion if you don't feel like fighting to change who is champion. The best feature in my opinion is the interactive entrance and victory scene where you can reenact your favorite superstars' entrances and victory scene or you can just decide to beat them up for a while by doing your finisher or signature moves on them, hitting them with steel chairs punching them or celebrate your victory by doing a taunt the referee raising your arm or going up on the corner and doing a taunt. Although this game is a great game I was a bit disappointed to find out that they forgot some great features and match types I was looking forward to play like the elimination chamber and the all new inferno match, they also left out some features like the downloadable content where you could download all new divas costumes, Evan Bourn, Ted Dibbiasie, new MVP costume, New Masked Kane costume, Charlie Hass and other downloadable content. They also left out a feature I was looking for the create a finisher, and some people were looking forward to the highlight reel if you don't know what it is it's a video you create out of a match you had highlighting the parts of the match you want although this does seem like a great feature it's only for sharing with your friends online by posting them it's not for making an entrance video so for me personally I wouldn't say it's a great feature to be added to other consoles. The career mode was disappointing now having no plot or story line just fighting for titles. Me owning all the games in the franchise would STRONGLY recommend this game for ALL SvR fans EVEN non SvR fans. I promise this game won't disappoint you. So speak to you next time on my next review.

This Game Rocks!!!SvR 2009 is a great game, especially for the Wii. THQ left out the inferno match, elimination chamber match, create a finisher mode, and highlight reel in the game, which are available in ps3 and 360. The sound in the game is decent, but the interactive entrances make up for it. Road to Wrestle Mania 24 is really fun, but they should have made more Superstars available to use. The Co-Op storyline for mysterio and Batista is cool, but triple h has the best RtW of all. I did the DX path and it rocked. Undertaker's was pretty easy. The all new tag team improvements are pretty good. Create a Superstar is better than 08. Career Mode is fun but easy. The controls are the best part. You feel like you are actually wrestling while playing. There are no real "legends" except Ric Flair and maybe Tazz. But overall this is the best SvR for wii ever. GET IT!

PRETTY GOOD GAME!!!This is a very good game. The graphics are better than i thought it would be.It has more match types but its missing alot of the good ones that the other systems have for example inferno match and elimination chamber. The control was pretty hard to get used to but after a day i pretty much had it down. The gameplay is very fun and online mode makes this game great. I would reccomend this game to everyone.Road To Wrestlemania is great even though i havent finish it yet, you get to unlock many characters and a arena. It has backstage brawl!!!!!! probably the best match for the wii you also get to unlock the Gauntlet Match. The game has a few minor problems haven't seen anything bad about the game so far, all i gotta say is it is way much better than 08 from what i hear. Rent it first if your not so sure about it.
