Heavenly Guardian embodies the fast paced fun and adventure of the classic arcade shooter while utilizing the powers of the Nintendo Wii to add new thrills to the genre. Journey through various environments and fight through a variety of mythological creatures! Fight the journey solo, or gain the aid of your companions in cooperative two-player action. Search for power-ups and special items to vanquish the evil gods and save your love from death.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Kamakazi20012 from Misleading But Fun Adventure Game Heavenly Guardian's backside showcases images that appear to make the game look like an RPG. Going by that alone you purchase the game. When you get home you turn the Wii and TV on and insert your new RPG only to discover you were misled. What you end up with is an adventure game on the Wii that could be considered a hidden gem. The game has some of the best handdrawn animation I have seen in a long time, the music is good, and the storyline is original and fresh. However, this game is tough and mean. While offering good gameplay it does not do much to help the player along. It really takes things back old school when we had to leave NES games on overnight to finish them later as mosgames did not save progress as HG doesn't seem to save as well. There are checkpoints but once you lose all your extra lives you are back to square one again. Then again it could just be me being older than when I played those NES games too. Overall I would recommend this one. The graphics, music and sounds are good. Controls are well executed and feel familiar at times. My only gripe is with the instructions as they did not give much details and missed explaining amfew things.

Like the first person to review this title, I too like play games with my spouse. Unfortunately this game is not fun. It’s basically a 360 shooter with Zelda-like set up. An RPG without "R". It claims to have sweet graphics based on hand drawn art, which is better than some I guess. The actual play of the game confused my wife as she tried to decipher between her character and the enemies on screen. Player 2 is just different shade of Player 1. A shade that is similar to the backgrounds. The power ups are good enough for the game, but lack variety. It seems that the creators spent more time on the hand drawn graphics than the game itself. This game would be more fun if changes were made involving the game's overall set up.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Alandra Sapphire from Great Arcade Game My husband and I are always on the look out for new co-op games, as you already know these are quite rare so when we find one we get it right away. Heavenly Guardian seems really silly when you first turn it on, but let me tell you it is addicting in all ways. The graphics are very Mario like, the screen sort of just goes along with you. The monsters are very cute and easy to kill at first, but it gets harder as you go along. Your special attacks are very powerful and you must continue to collect diamonds in order to make them stronger, this is very helpful and you should choose 1 color and stick to it so you can get as strong as possible. Watch out because as soon as you are hit you lose power ups. The major drawbacks to this game are: No level ups - you stay the same throughout the game, though your power line does get longer if you collect hearts. No saves - you can set the game to 5 continues, but once they are up you must start from the beginning again. Overall, this is a great game and lots of fun, however the lack of saving power makes it frustrating for real gamers who want to see the whole game. Enjoy!!!!
