Players will be able to take on the role of the characters from the film, getting behind the wheels of each character's signature vehicles to experience firsthand the film's high adrenaline, combative racing style. The car-fu style of action within the game will closely represent the action style being designed by the Wachowski brothers for the film itself as they lend direction and assets to the development team directly from their Berlin set. John Gaeta, a long time Wachowski collaborator and Co-VFX Supervisor on the Speed Racer film, is working with Sidhe and WBIE to assist in maintaining a close film-to-game aesthetic connection.

Dollar Bin Reviews from
A Demon on WheelsIt's a fun racing game, somewhat of a hybrid between Jet Moto and a typical kart racer. You can perform tricks to boost your turbo gauge, and ram into other cars using either a QTE or a carefully timed spin attack. It unfortunately gets repetitive after you clear the amateur circuit, as those are the only tracks in the game. But they capture the feel of the movie very well. Just a missed opportunity the anime counterparts aren't included as unlockable cars. The controls aren't as tight as something like Ridge Racer, but I'm very pleased with it for $4.99.

Speed Racer is an excellent game for DS.When i got speed racer for my birthday along with a DS system I thought it was going to be great and I was right. I still play it today because it is one of the best DS games yet. If you like high speed racing then Speed Racer is the game for you!

A MUST BUY!!!I've bought many racing games for the DS and been disappointed by all. That is until now. The developers for this game hit just about everything right. The controls are well implemented and tight, the graphics are stunning and this is the first time a DS game has given me that true feeling of all out speed. The character roster is huge and while there is very little vehicle customization, each character's vehicle brings different strengths to the race. This is a great racing game with depth and enough skill needed to win, which makes it addicting. This is not your typical movie based game here. They went out of their way to craft a great racing game that I would say is a blend of wipeout with some burnout thrown in. With three classes of racing, stunt mode, and a battle mode you'll be playing this one for a while. GREAT FUN!
