A great Marvel card battling game!If you like Marvel Comics characters and collectible card games (Magic the Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, etc.), you will absolutely love this game! It's super addicting and the computer AI puts up a really good fight. The learning curve is pretty high, if, like myself, you've never played the VS card game system before, but, once you get it down, the strategic possibilities are endless.
The graphics aren't spectacular, but they get the job done. This is a card battling game after all; it's not meant to be a graphical marvel (pun intended). The story mode has comic book panel style cut scenes, which are neat and appropriate, considering the subject matter.
The music is pretty rocking and gets you in the mood to sling cards at your opponents. The track changes with each new chapter of the story mode, which is good, as you don't have to listen to the same tune every time that way.
The entire game is played with the DS in "book style" (i.e., turned sideways) and with the stylus, so the control is nothing more than tapping the cards and/or buttons you want.
This game has pretty much infinite replay value. There are separate Super Hero and Villain story modes to work your way though, Puzzle stages (where you're tasked with reducing your foe to zero, or less, hit points in one turn, under a variety of circumstances), and a Free Duel mode. You can buy booster packs from the card store with the money you earn in other modes and customize several different decks. Buying this game, which contains hundreds of cards, is WAY cheaper than purchasing the real thing too.
I see myself playing this for many months, if not years, to come!

Fantastic card gameBeing a fan of card games, I got this game for Christmas the year I got my first DS and I absolutely loved this game! I have since lost it so I can not give you a very detailed review, but here is what I remember. The game starts you giving you a tutorial which is extremely hard to get through (a lot of reading) but extremely worth it because this game is not easy to just pick up. I think I also recall the cut scenes resembling that of a comic book, and then you would battle whoever the particular bad guy was in the cut scene. It felt natural playing this game on the DS, the bad guy's playing field was on top and you controlled your playing field on the bottom screen obviously. The graphics were good considering it's a card game. There were no monster animations, where it changes screens and they battle one another, which I like! Bottom line is this game is awesome! It was worth the 30 dollars I paid for the first time, and now the game costs 5 dollars used.... so what are you guys waiting for??? This would be an awesome addition to any gamers collection.
