Rated 4 out of 5 by lobothesacred3 from Iron Man 2 =========== Short Review =========== Iron Man 2 for the DS is a side scrolling beat-em up that manages to be surprisingly fun if a bit on the simple side. The game features two unique control layouts with Iron Man utilizing the D-pad the buttons while War Machine is largely controlled with the D-pad and the stylus pen. On the downside the game features only 6 stages and 6 boss fights and can be beaten with a 100% completion in under 10 hours rather easily. =========== Gameplay =========== As stated previously this game utilizes two different control schema to make the two playable characters feel different from one another, and I don't have any major complaints about the game since it easy to control and works rather well. My only real complaints are that during the flight scenario stages is that you can't fire back for several seconds after taking a hit and that Iron Man has a difficult time dealing with the airborne mines since he lacks the ability to fire in anything but a straight line during these scenarios. You'll end up taking a lot of damage during these situations since the game offers a rather limited amount of space to maneuver in. =========== Graphics =========== Graphically the game is decent. The visuals aren't anything special, but the enemies on screen are easily identifiable and the sprites are animated rather well. On the downside you'll often times come across enemies that will have been spawned inside of a wall or another object. =========== Sound =========== The sound isn't bad, but none of the tracks really stand out or are memorable. This game definitely won't make you pull out your ipads anytime soon. On a sadder note the game lacks any voice acting as well which might have been a nice inclusion to have since the game has few cut scenes and a minimal amount of dialogue to explain what is going on. =========== Lasting Appeal =========== Iron Man 2 lacks any real lasting appeal to be honest. After you've collected all of the comic book covers and concept art, beaten all the combat room challenges, beaten all of the stages with a S ranking, and beaten all of the combat challenges in the stages to unlock all of the extra suits you'll have nothing else to do. You can go back and try and improve your scores in the stages to achieve a perfect score, but I couldn't imagine many players being that obsessed with this game to be honest. =========== Scores =========== Gameplay: 7 Graphics: 8 Sound: 6 Lasting Appeal: 5 Overall: 6.67

I took a risky investment when buying this game, knowing that the Wii, PS3, and XB360 version were considered one of the worst games of the year. I am happy to saw that my investment was worth it! In the game you get to play as both Iron Man and War Machine; both with different controls. Iron Man is faster and is controled with the D-pad and buttons, while War Machine is slower and is controled with the touch screen. The side-scrolling point of view was a great choice and is a very fun game. The only flaw is that the game is about 4 hours long.

Rated 4 out of 5 by CBCKI from Best system to get this on. Graphics: Are pretty good during gameplay, but can be a small bit wierd during movies. Gameplay: Some parts are easy, but most are hard. You fight many types of enemies: Crimson Dynamo, Ultimo, Tanks, robots, hover crafts, etc. Sound and controls: The sound for voices is very good but the weapons and gadgets are strange sometimes. The controls are different for Iron Man and War Machine. Takes time to get used to. Overall: This is a game you should buy. It is fun, difficult, let's you upgrade and play simulations in Tony's mansion. And both Iron Man and War Machine have 6 armors to choose from. You'll like this for sure. Enjoy.

Mostly because of war machine the iron mans many many suits and both of their weaponry. The story line is very long . This is one of those games where you can't stop playing until you unlock everything and beat the game. The different iron man suits bring different abilities to the game. This has to be one of the best games i have ever played for the DS. Search everyplace in the game for secrets. To get the best stuff switch between Iron Man and War Machine to get points to buy new weapons.
