GlitchyI bought this used a few days ago and I was havin fun playing it before it started glitching. The game would not save past Spring 30 Year 1 and would freeze at random times forcing me to close the app. Other times my 3DS would not recognize that the cartridge was even in the console. The gameplay is fun but the glitches wreck it for me.

WORTH AS MUCH AS FALLOUT NEWVEGAS XDthis is the worst harvest moon game ive ever played. Its boring and lacks the fun gameplay i always get addicted to in the harvest moon franchise. the story isnt worth playing. The reason i came here is because under "used games" it was this game and for the same price fallout new vegas. i bought both games used, and unlike new vegas i got bored of this the first hour

Worst HM game I've playedFirst let me just say: I am a huge Harvest Moon fan, so Sunshine Islands came as a big disapointment to me. The graphics were bad; horrible even compared to the other HM's I have played. The storyline was okay, if not a little boring. The vileragers are ridiculously boring, with barely any personality that I could see and they always said the same thing pretty much every time I talked to them. Everything about Sunshine Islands, in fact, was very boring. Every day in the day I played was exactly the same, with the exception of festival days, which weren't that much better, seeing as how the festivals were pretty much useless and not very fun. And the one thing that annoyed me the most: you can't even ride your horse! So basically, the horse is a huge waste, as the only reason for the horse in the first place is so that you can navigate through the map easier. And not being able to ride it obviously defeats the purpose completely. So my horse just sat in its stall and I guess they expect you to just look at it or something. Then when I let it out--oh yeah, another hugely annoying thing about Sunshine Islands, you can't even let all your animals out at once! you have to push each animal out of the barn or coop or stable one at a time! it takes forever!--anyways, when I let the horse out, it ran around my farm really fast. So I had to run all over my property to find my horse when I wanted to return it to its stall, which was super annoying since I kept accidently letting my horse out all the time. In conclusion: I LOVE Harvest Moon games, but if you're looking to buy an HM, don't buy this one. It's the worst HM I've ever played. But don't let that discourage you! Harvest Moon games are the best! Just try another one.

The Harvest Moon series just kicked up a notchWhen I first heard that a new Harvest Moon game was coming to the DS, I was determined to buy it. After buying this game, I have not regret for one moment buying it.
This is definetly the most advanced HM game on the market, with specific "water points" and "sun points" for not only crops, but grains and trees too! There are even more animals involved this time too with cat, pig, badgers, sparrows, rabbits, ducks, mice and monkeys to name some of them.
The tool upgrade is a bit of a pain since you need to use "wonderfuls" which are very rare, and can only be won in festivals, and after many (game) years of work, made by yourself.
The romantic prospects are a plenty in this game, both for female and male players.
For those who liked the mining system in previous HM games will love this one with lots of challenging floors (255 floors to be exact) to explore.
A huge tips for players, both experienced and newbies: BUY THE STRATEGY GUIDE. I will pretty much say it is a "must have" to manage to play this game, and have fun with it (sadly, but true)
This game is without doubt a 5 out of 5 in my book, and a must buy for HM lovers and time managment / simulation fans!
Good luck, and happy farming!
