Racquet Sports kind of came out of thin air. I would think a WII game with a motion tracking camera for the already motion controlled Wii would get a little more attention then this game has gotten. though i am almost sure while not as high tech as the ps3 eye/move it's essentially the same thing going on here.
Playing this game with a wii motion plus controller works fairly well, almost better then wii sports resort. It has virtually no problem quickly switching from backhand to forehand and is satisfying in that regard but the slight delay on your swing will at first throw you off.
You only use the wiimote and that means the comp runs around for you and does a ok job at it although the opponent AI is as at first too easy to even take joy in beating.
Playing with the camera is almost as fun but not quite. in both cases the movements feel less 1:1 motion tracking and more gesture based and making sure your close enough to your tv, the room is bright enough (and you are too) and not too much is going on around you may just take 75% of the fun from it before you begin. I wonder will this be a unseen draw back with all camera based motion gameing. but if you go threw it all you may find that the game works pretty well when set up right... angle on shots, drops and so forth become easier and easier to pull of as you get a better sense of timing. And the camera made by Ubi Soft by the way and not the big N has potential of being a great asset to the wi.i Or possibly future nintendo consoles??? while the camera does not track your wii mote like the ps3move it does do an ok job of tracking you.
The sound is hardly worth mention. music is wii-like and the entire game feel like it was made by nintendo although the is no mii suport. not a lot of voice work goin on. not even playing tennis where you expect to here score kept although the music is not bad.
graphics again are very wii like, simple bright vivid colors and lots of locations. you won't find much wrong there. though i wonder if the one and only view point for gameplay adds to the sense of delay
If you enjoy theese type of games then i would say give it a play. you don't need the camera to enjoy it but if you don't see yourself shelling out doe for kinect or move but still want alil taste of this next step in video gameing, then this is for you. it includes Ping pong, squash ball, beach tennis, tennis and badminton... They all play fairly the same beach tennis is tennis with badminton rules pretty much badminton is ok where as squash is quietly addictive. Still tennis and ping pong are the stars...
yes: I recommend this product
