Pointless game

Not for younger children. Lots of fighting. You have to fight SO much before you even get to another level. Pretty pointless game.

Don’t bother with the Wii

I’ll admit I didn’t do my research in advance so I didn’t know the Wii version would be so different than the PS2 version, but the graphic & gameplay are so disappointing I can’t believe they bothered to make it. The store I got it from was great though so I would definitely return

Made from the ground up on Wii

The Wii version of MUA 2 was developed by N-Space and they made from the ground up for the system. Gameplay is exactly the same and it has the same story and cinematics as the 360/PS3 version but it also has new exclusive cinematics done in silhouette style that goes into the story a bit more. It has the same levels along with new sections and objectives but the designs, layouts and assets are all new/different. Boss battles are different (when you fight cyborg Lucia Von Bardas in the 360/PS3 version you fight her on a boat. In the Wii version you fight her in the middle of Times Square New York while having to stop a bomb she and her henchmen set up. Or when you fight Electro in the 360/PS3 version you fight him in what looks like a church, in the Wii version you fight him in a generator room. Another example of a different boss battle is when you have to fight Songbird and Moonstone at the same time. It also has exclusive boss battles like Magneto, Quicksilver, and The Lizard. The roster of characters have 8 powers each instead of only 4 like in the 360/PS3 version. It has Blade, Psylocke and Cyclops as exclusive character's to play as, etc. IMO it's worth having both versions due to all the cool differences between between them.

Great game, but missing manual

I bought this game as a birthday gift for my son, who enjoyed playing UA1 on our PS2. The game is fun, and the graphics and gameplay are what you'd expect from the Ultimate Alliance series. A major reason I didn't give 5 stars is the disc packaging. The website claimed to have several copies in stock, so i was disappointed when it arrived without the original cover art, and no manual.

Yet, a game that was very long, but well worth buying. Anyways, this is a really good rpg game. If your really a hardcore gamer, you would actually go all out on this. I know that this game that came out with different consoles, get a particular character that other consoles don't. I wasn't bothered by it. Anyways, as the characters go, they do have the same characters and with more new character, but not by much. So much cameo characters in the game that I wanted to be in the game, but again, not bothered by it. If they added every single character in the game, that would be pretty sweet, but so much to choose from. The length of this game was very long and since i'm a hardcore gamer, it took me 2 1/2 days to finish this without the strategy guide. This game is pretty straight forward. The strategy guide is only good for the bonus missions and not story mode at all. If you played Marvel Ultimate Alliance, you should get used to this game. Going forward, I love the fusion attacks! Its really insane! What sucks for this game is, I thought you can play with everyone around the world on wi-fi for story mode, but it turns out to just show your high score to the world. Oh well. My final thought for this game is to just put this game on wi-fi for 4 player online co-op. That would really be nice, but overall, this is yet another great rpg game for Marvel!

Good, but ultimately more of the same

I'll keep this short and sweat. Graphics are a step up from the past games, though not in a mind blowing way. It's just better overall but not ZOMG!!!! The interface is basically the same, move around, jump, fast attack, hard attack, special moves, grab etc.... Overall game play is standard 3/4 gauntlet style game. Baddies rush you and your hero squad beats the tar out of them. Then, in true heroic fashion, you destroy every thing in sight to collect tokens and hidden items. I mean seriously, the 'heroes' cause far more destruction in these games then the villains ever do. So here's the review. If you liked the past games you'll like this. It's more of the same, but it's all slightly better, except I found the nagging voice acting to be a little more annoying at least at the start. I'll have to check to see if you can change that in the options. The hero selection is pretty cool and you'll definitely find favorites. I think the problem here is that after playing through Batman and experiencing what is nearly a perfect example of a superhero game. Ultimate Alliance 2 feels just like a weak game by comparison. Which isn't really fair as they are 100% completely opposite games. But UA2 does feel like a step back, which is fun at times, but I'm finding it to be overall boring. It's just a case of been there done that, but with a different back drop. It's not that it does anything bad, it's a solid game for what it is. The problem is that I don't find anything compelling in it. This style of game just doesn't feel engaging anymore. While there are subtle differences to each character they all control the same, they all have basically the same powers effectively and since all you are doing is beating the tar out of bad guys those variances are even more diminished. I'll bring it out with friends and maybe spend some spare time, but it'd have to be pretty spare time indeed.
