Good game but nothing special

This is a fun game but it is not a great game. It has good gameplay and the kid major leaguers are funny but the graphics stink and it can get old.

fun game to play

I'm a fan of the backyard franchise, so I got this game. This is a fun game, and it's easy to play and understand. They added new features to the whole custom player thing, and there are a good amount of pro players with stats that are somewhat reasonable, but Cliff Lee's stats were inaccurate. I mean, a guy like him deserves a little better than 7 out of 10. But that's only one player, so, it's okay. The power-ups are cool, and the gameplay is reasonable to the selected difficulty. So, if you're a casual gamer, i'd recommend this but if you're a hardcore gamer get 2k or the Show.

Fun game

This game has a camera angle no different than any other baseball game so its pretty good there. The controls are pretty simple and easy to pick up so it's easy for first time players too. The way that they rate the players is okay. some players have underated category like big papi in speed. It is literally impossible for him to get a double. HAHA. Its not too hard but not too easy either because you can change the difficulty also. the graphics are pretty good for the wii and i don't really care about that though cause i still play snes. the one thing i don't like about the game is the weird sound it makes when you pitch the ball. It's really not normal. They have a lot of players to choose from when you do a pickup game or season but i wish you could pick them for the tourney mode. Overall this game is pretty fun. it's not a high school kid game but its a pretty good time for anyone in middleschool or lower.

Not Fun

Not good maybe even horrible. I brought this game home hoping to have a good time with friends. I had this expectation based on previous Backyard Baseball titles. What I got was a whole lot of frustration coming from myself and others. The only decent thing about this game is the ability to load it up make one selection and play. Anything beyond the basic controls of picking a pitch or swing becomes a thumb twinging nightmare. It is nigh impossible as the batter to hit the ball much less distinguish between the various pitches. As if this was not enough its basically a guessing game whether or not the pitch will be a ball or not as there are no obvious visual clues whatsoever. Want to bunt good luck even that is no simple task. Essentially this turns things into a silent game of cat and mouse. To be fair this is from a multiplayer standpoint. With a little practice the career mode can become fun but I never got the sense that I improved as a whole but rather had the occasional lucky streak. From a management standpoint the game does offer a rather sophisticated management mode but not much has changed from the previous titles as a whole.
