Alvin and the Chipmunks follows the tour from a behind the scenes perspective. If you enjoyed either the latest movie with Jason Lee or any of the old cartoons you will probably enjoy this game. If you did not enjoy the movies or cartoons this game is probably not for you. Your band starts out unknown. Dave talks you into playing a small gig. this is done with the Wii remote in one hand an the nunchuck in the other. You have four targets, one in each corner of the screen. As the star crosses the target you have to perform the appropriate action to hit it. One target you just swing the remote down at the right time, another target is doing the same with the nunchuck. The third and fourth targets are doing the same thing only pressing a button at the same time. There is a certain level of skill involved and there are also levels of play to choose from at the beginning like most Wii games have such as beginner or expert. This game is challenging but not impossible for my 7 year old, my 4 year old could not quite get the timing down. As you play the game there is a Rock-A-Meter on the side to show how you are doing at playing your drums. If you are doing extremely well it shoots stars out of the top. If you are doing poorly the guys stop singing and the lighting fades out. You can continue to play where you left off and you can go back and play any of the songs you've unlocked. You unlock songs one level at a time. One level unlocks several songs, all of the songs on this game were very popular. The guys occasionally change a few lyrics here and there to fit the age group they are gearing towards. There is also a Multi-Player feature where 2 people can compete for points only. You can choose easy, medium or hard for each player as well (meaning you can choose a different level for each) which is pretty neat. Overall this is a fun game, especially for children. You can continuously attempt to beat your own score and replay unlimited times.
