I loved this game.It was the funnest game I have ever played.But it gets to hard to play. I played it up to chapter 2-6. it is rated teen because it is to hard. I would recommend this to someone 12 and up.Not someone 10 and up.

Like "Trauma Center 1" this sequel involves the continuing adventures of the young surgeon Derick Stiles. Bioterrorism also makes a comeback as the main component of the storyline. Improvements in this sequel include options for "difficulty levels" and the removal of one step in the regular surgical process that ate up valuable time for no real purpose. While the story is still a "ripping good yarn" very little is done to advance the development of the main characters. The disease "enemy" is a mutation of the previous from the first game, but no new disease fighting weapons are provided. In short "Trauma Center 2" is a redux of the original, so if you wished that "1" had been twice as long, you get your wish by playing "2". All the best components of the first are still here in this sequel, and there is no need to have played the first version to understand the story. I hope the creators/developers do not abandon the storyline entirely. There might be a whole new game by working the storyline from the perspective of the "cranky but dedicated researcher". Two puzzles during the game that Dr. Stiles has to solve for the researcher showed a lot of promise and were fun to solve; I would have liked more. That said I enjoyed this game thoroughly for the same reasons as my review of the previous "Trauma Center" and won't be parting with this game either.

Love this game, I was afraid of it being badly done because I've always played it on Wii, But I bought it today along with Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days and Brain Age 2. I wanted to try this game out immediately, I was surprised by how great its done, it's just like the Wii platforms, and its even easier now since you don't have to try to do the stitches, etc, with a Wii remote. I haven't gotten very far in it, but I love it. I know the Trauma Center games ALWAYS get hard after a few levels, but it's great for anyone who can stomach surgery, blood, things like that. I suggest this to everyone.

Despite all the bad reviews on this game, I think that it actually has a lot of value. Based on the same concept as ArmorGames' "Dark Cut" series, this game challenges your concentration. Not only do you have to do several medical procedures within the first few episodes of the first chapter, you also have to keep the patient alive. This game uses actual medical terms, so if you're studying up on medicine, this game is perfect. That being said, it is still anime. Of course there's going to be boss fights. Overall, this game has held my interest for about a month straight now.

I bought this game because i am in the medical field and wanted a game because i enjoy the field. This game has a good story line, however, there is just way too much talking. I found myself skipping through the talking just to get to the surgeries. I am not a big fan of anime either and that's how the game is made. I should have known when I picked up the case but I just figured it was the cover. The surgery part of the game is good but other than that, I would not recommend the game to anyone. I am 23 years old and I say this game is boring. I did not buy the first game cause I just wanted to see what this game was about and cause it was cheaper of the two. There is just too much talking. There are certain sections of the game that are just talking.. no surgeries. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS GAME!!

In this true sequel to the first Trauma Center, you again pick up the scalpel as Dr. Derek Stiles, the now famous surgeon who, with the aid of Nurse Angie Thompson, eradicated the terrifying disease known as GUILT. The story picks up some time after that event, with Derek and Angie traveling the world to research new, obscure diseases and to save those unfortunate individuals stricken by these unusual sicknesses. The game is in all ways superior to the first, having improved graphics, an intuitive interface, the ability to change difficulty levels before any operation, as well as an engrossing story. The familiar tools remain, some with new abilities that will aid you as you fight the myriad of different conditions that threaten the lives of your patients. Unlike the previous game, which had you endlessly battling GUILT, you'll find a much more diverse assortment of operations this time around. They range from routine procedures to emergencies in which seconds mean the difference between life and death. At times, you must employ the mysterious, and now world-famous 'Healing Touch'. The 'Healing Touch' is an ability that Derek possesses that will slow the passage of time, allowing you to pull off the impossible to fight back the reaper. While a great game, this isn't one for children. There is a large amount of blood, dramatic injuries, as well as quite a bit of reading to do to advance the compelling story. However, for those mature enough to handle these things and enjoyed the first game, or even just like medical shows or 'puzzle' games, this is the title for you. Even if you don't care for those things, give it a test run and you may be surprised how fast you learn to like wielding that scalpel.

Trauma Center: Under the Knife 2, seems like an addicting arcade game, except on the go with responsive DS controls. You take on the role as Doctor Derek Stiles as you use numerous amounts of tools to put bones together, stitch people up, and extract tumors and bullets. This game is also only $**, compared to other DS titles. At any time you can change the difficulty and on the mission select screen, you have the option of doing any level on any difficulty: Easy, Normal, or Hard. And this game also has a good challenge as you race against the clock to save patient's lives. You gain new tools along the way and must be quickly used to clear operations. But you will still have to use old tools just as much as new ones to ensure a vast variety. Overall, Trauma Center: UTK2, is an excellent choice for anyone with a DS.

I'm glad the DS version has the Easy/Normal/Hard modes now, definitely helps to reduce frustration if you get stuck on a surgery so you can just go to normal or easy to beat it. The story was great, loved that they brought back the old Caduceus crew, and they added more character growth. They refined the controls from the first game (the magnification tool doesn't make you wanna rip your hair out anymore!), and they made a nicer interface. The game had a good pace to it, and was just long enough so I didn't feel like it just flew by (though I still beat it in the first day but that's due to obsession) and they still have the lovely extreme surgeries for all the nutsy people out there. In the end it's another engaging trauma center with a good mix of challenging gameplay and developing story that should satisfy any fan of the series and gamers new to the trauma center scene. Next I'm hoping for another Co-Op trauma center on the Wii or even DS! The Co-Op in New Blood was so fun.

Under The Knife 2 has far outdone its predecessor on the DS. The graphics have been improved significantly and look a lot more like the graphics on the Wii. The controls have become much easier to use. For example, suturing is done using the zig-zag pattern. There are now 3 difficulty settings: Easy, Medium, and Hard. There are new surgeries with creative twists. From what I've played so far, the Kyriaki GUILT has reappeared as has become more of a threat. There is an all new soundtrack. The music is not bad, however I would like to hear some of my favorite tunes from the previous game. Several characters from the first game have made an appearance in this sequal. Overall, this is an amazing sequal. Everything has been improved and this game continues one of my favorite storylines.
