Okay, so my mom got me this for my birthday. I had played survival kids on, which was the basis for Lost In Blue. I loved the emulator, so I decided to ask for Lost In Blue. I was dissapointed. I was really exited to boot up the game, and when I did all the normal things happened. I spawned on the beach and went through the cutscenes. Then I found the clams, coconuts, and two crabs. I made it to the cave and got some sticks. I remembered survival kids, so I went in search for palm tree bark to make a kindle tool to light a fire. I fully searched the island area for one measly peice of wood. After no luck on the ground I shook trees, thinking bark might fall off. I spent five minutes shaking one tree. NO BARK. Day two passed and I had no strength left. Eventually I ran out of coconuts and died of starvation. The next day my brother finally found one peice of wood and made a kindle tool. He had eaten all his coconuts, and was about to cook a crab when we realized neither one of us knew how to cook it. In survival kids all you had to was select the food in the menu and select "burn." He died of starvation. Every time since then none of us has found that elusive peice of wood again. I. DO. NOT. LIKE. THIS.

A nice thinking game about mystery and survival
8 years ago
I am a big gamer so I am always looking for something a bit new and different on the market. I was delighted with this game in that it differed in style from most of the other games I had played before. It is a game of survival and mystery. It requires thinking and smart planning. I remember the first time I played this game, my character died on the first day because I made him eat a poisonous mushroom by accident ( You learn very quickly what is good for your character and what is bad). This game is quite challenging in some ways and not a game I would recommend for young children, as it will probably leave them a bit bored. The story is intriguing as you try to find a way off your island. The more you explore, the more surprises you uncover. It can seem a bit repetitive and tedious after a couple of hours of play, since you have to make sure you feed, water, and take care of your characters, but I found that I could not put it down until I found out the mysteries of the strange island and how to get off the island. Also, I loved how they incorporate the use of the stylus in the game. You use your stylus to uncover items and make items, which in a sense gives it a more realistic feel. If you are looking for a high action fast-paced game, this is not the game you want. If you want a game that will make you think and plan and use your brain, this is a good one to get.

I got this game when it first came out back in the day and it seemed like a good idea at the time. Sure, in the beginning it's really not that bad until you start getting into the more developed thing. The storyline was pretty well thought out but the controls were more than lacking. It got tiring having to come back for the girl since there was this glitch that she would not always get herself water or feed herself. It was even more annoying to drag her to an important place, especially when you had little to no energy. Still, the game is a good try for casual games but for hardcore gamers like myself, find something else to enjoy.

Loved it

I got this game as soon as it came out (which was a looong time ago) and to this day I still play it when I'm bored and want to get the feel of the island again. The controls are good, not great, but good for the DS. When you unlock the Heroine mode of play, you use minigames more and can complete your scrapbook with recipes. The graphics, being old, are not the best, but I feel it doesn't take anything away from this game. The storyline is Okay, neither of them have 'oh, btw, I'm trained to use the bow and climb rocks, and am a survival expert' NO, the Hero and Heroine are both regular people coping with this island and you will definitely be able to relate to them. The Game has multiple endings you can get, so the replay is very high. When you beat the Heroine mode you unlock a character for 'Survival Mode' which is the main bad guy, so I thought it was interesting to start again as him. Don't get me wrong, this game is Fun and worth playing, but it's HARD! It can be very challenging, I recommend looking up a guide to figure out some things and get started before you try to leave beyond the Jungle. There are some excellent built in glitch/cheats that you can use to make the game easier, and I think, more fun, because then you can focus on your relationship with your partner more =) I highly recommend this game, I LOVED IT.
