Ever since I was 6 (now I am 17) I have loved the goosebumps books and when I seen this in gamestop I was so excited and before I went I had planned this purchase. One thing that was cool was it came with a free goosebumps book, calling all creeps and I never read that one and this was automatically packaged with the game so if you reserved it or not it will come with it (note, if you want it ask the person at the desk since the book is bigger than the package they dont have it displaying on the shelf they keep it behind the counter because they cant mess with the bundle, while the wii and ps2 ones sit out in the open since the package is big). Basically the game is a whole bunch of carnival mini games with a scary twist from coffin riding in a pool of blood to a giant monster with worms you have to remove, while still keeping the basics like bumper cars and test your strength. The game took me a while to beat because some of the mini games were tough but with a little practice you can beat them. The music was good with a carnival like accent and was cool. The story was simple, escape an evil place while the ending was kinda of weird with a twist which fit's the goosebump tradition. The controls could have been better since when you walked around you had to use the d pad which got clunky and would have been easier with a touch screen control while the mini game controls were perfect with some using the d pad, buttons, and stylus. The graphics were kinda bad with the characters looking blocky when they could have made it better since I have seen games on the ds that were way better. The replay value is good because depending on how good you were at a game you will get a fright (a little skull) ranging from bronze, silver, and gold and the when you get a certain amount you can get into new areas. Also you can collect monster cards by doing certain things at mini games and such to gain them and only after you have earned every fright can you obtain all of them since some cards require you to get all frights in an area and there is one super rare card by doing something you would never suspect, which I found out when I was looking at a goosebumps horrorland book at the back it had tips on the game and told you how to get this rare card (will I tell, no read the book or look it up online cause I dont want to spoil it). Overall this game is good with a few little problems but a lot of games are like this and whether you're a goosebumps fan or not this is a must.
yes: I recommend this product
