This game is just asome!!!! The gameplay was easy to understand, the music was catchy, and the story was one of the best I've ever seen! As with all there games, Square Enix utilises the full capabilities of the Nintendo DS. A good feuture one it was the multiplayer mode. Basicaly you can play the game without the story, with friends or by yourself!!! So get this game, 'cause it's good!

Gameplay: Hack and Slash style with a few puzzle like elements. Story: Epic. Only a true JRPG player would be able to understand it all the way. Graphics: Wonderful! (Keep in mind this is a DS game.) Sound: I always liked the music, catchy and upbeat. Little Yuri has a awful sounding voice, but that only lasts for three levels. Best class: Selkie. (They can double jump and they are archers.) Note: If it wasn't for this game I would have never played any of the Crystal Chronicle games.

Normally I am a huge fan of the Final Fantasy series but I just could not get into this particular game. The graphics were blocky and just terrible. The music wasnt catchy at all. The only positive thing that I can say about this game is that the storyline was pretty good(even though I didn't finish it) but that did not keep me from quickly getting bored with it. Maybe this game just wasn't for me but there are lots of other people who would probably enjoy it.

What can i say about this game? It's AWESOME for those who like their RPG's with Real-Time Combat. it mixes everything you lov e about Final Fantasy with a compelling, somewhat childish, and (in my opion), moving, touching, and intriguing storyline. I won't spoil the ending, but I will say this. Be prepared to grab a hanky, scratch your head, and desire to keep diving in. I laughed, i cried, I got mad at the villain, I laughed again, cried again, and shed a tear when the credits rolled. All in all, I am VERY glad to have spend the money for this title, and am looking forward to the sequel. It may not be as polished as its' seque, sue to the choppy graphics, but those aside, it was an AWESOME story. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I recommend this game for its multiplayer mode only. If your friends have it, it is absolutely worth getting just to be able to play multiplayer with them. Otherwise, avoid like the plague. I was really disappointed playing this game. Story mode was boring and the characters/voice actors were irritating so I didn't get past the 3rd dungeon. Its multiplayer mode has redeeming qualities. But as a huge fan of the original Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, this game did not live up to expectations. Controls were average (easy to learn, especially with the touch screen), graphics were good for the DS. Think of the FFIII remake, only more colorful... Since it's more of an action game (no separate battle screen) they did a really good job with the sprites. I didn't notice any lag as they leapt across obstacles and slashed at monsters. Even 4 player. Story mode had voice acting, which may or ay not count as a plus. As for music, I don't think it was bad, but wasn't all that great either. I dont really remember. I didn't see much of the story, but the characters bothered me to no end. Watching Yuri be clueless and Chelinka worry did not make me feel sympathetic to them at all. And Meeth's accent (?) Was a disgrace to the proud heritage of the Lilties. It was also one of the easiest games I have played. Though I quit Story mode after a few hours, I played the multiplayer mode nonstop for several days. I played multiplayer alone using a selkie, got the character to around lv. 50, started another file with a Clavat, and was shocked by how easy it was. Story mode too. Watching cutscenes took about as long as beating dungeons in between. So changing tribes can really ramp up the difficulty, but it is still an easy game. Playing multiplayer alone was OK, and playing it with friends was a blast! Especially when they could take your character along to harder dungeons. Some friends and I got a 4 player thing going and beat a bunch of dungeons and it was awesome. Without the multiplayer part, I'd have given it the game a 2. There's also some neat stuff with armor. They have armor that makes you look like the Black Knight (FFCC), Paladin Cecil (FFIV GBA), Kain (FFCC GBA), and the character from the new game coming out. River Belle path is also a dungeon which gives you a clue as to how the old FFCC map has changed. Overall though, the only part of this game I liked is the multiplayer part.

Great combo of good graphics and gameplay

I definitely enjoyed playing. I usually like playing a game with good graphics, but it's usually hard to find one that's fun and challenging to play as well. This game definitely has a great combination. Go figure! It's Square Enix. They usually have great games with awesome graphics and gameplay. Hence why they have so many final fantasies out. I highly recommend this game. I actually chose this over the World Ends with You because of the graphics which surprises me because they're Square Enix as well. I definitely recommend this game to those who like the RPG games with real time fighting. I'm so used to Kingdom Hearts fighting that it's hard for me to get into the Final Fantasy fight style. I'll probably check World Ends with You out, but definitely try this game as well.

RPGs RAWK!!

If you're like me and you love RPGs, this would probably be a great game to buy. The storyline is very interesting, and the mutilplay is amazing. In Multiplayer Mode, You can choose whether you want to be a Lilty, a Selkie, A Clavat, or a Yuke. You can choose your gender and name, and the character customization is very good. Also in mulitplayer, once you beat Crystal Tower, you can then go to Belle River- a place that Crystal Chronicle fans will recognize. After that, you can play Hard mode. After Hard Mode, you can do Very Hard. Onto Story Mode, it has a great storyline and it gets very interesting. You will play as Yuri, the young Clavat. If I say any more, I would spoil it for you, so let me just get to my point. Both modes are great, and you can paint the Moogles. Added plus, right? I was thrilled to see another Crystal Chronicles come out, and I was happy when I found out that the fat moogles were back! I really enjoyed the CC for Gamecube. And, if I understand correctly, there's one coming out for the Wii... I don't have any major complaints about Ring of Fates. Square Enix did a great job making it. RPGs will always be the best! Thanks for reading, -Kelsie

It's okay.

This game had my high expectations, but many of them were not met. First of all, the game only lasts about 12 hours, which is sad for a Final Fantasy game. Also, the difficulty level isn't high enough. By the end, it has reached a difficulty that should have been in the middle of the game. The game is simply too child friendly, which will upset many fans of the series. Of course, only after you beat the game can you play it again in a harder difficulty, but there is little fun in that. It's the same story, bosses, and dungeons all over again, with dissapointingly and almost unseeable differences. The story was overall pretty bad. The main goal of the game stayed the same from almost the beginning to the end. There were simply just small events that took place to add a dungeon to lengthen the game. The wifi mode was dissapointing too. You can't play the dungeons with other people online. You can, however, wirelessly. The multiplay option can be played with three others, and its pretty fun to do so. You can also play multiplay by yourself, which is cool because the difficulty is harder because it's meant for multiple players. In multiplay you get to make your own character, but the customization is very weak. All you can decide is the race and gender of the character, and that's it. Its very likely to have two matching characters in multiplay, which can get confusing at times. However, the game does have a good amount of voiceacting that isn't half bad for some of the characters. It also has some of the best DS graphics I have ever seen. The gameplay is ok too. It's not bad for something that's almost purely a hack and slash. The controls are okay too, being simple and easy. There are a few buttons on the touch screen that are wierd to reach your thumb over and press them. But that eventually gets normal...kind of. I guess what I'm trying to say is: Its not a Final Fantasy game. Sure, it has Final Fantasy in the title, but it doesn't follow the principles of a true Final Fantasy game. Looking at it as Final Fantasy, its a dissapointment. Looking at it as any other game, its pretty good. I would recommend this game for those who like the Zelda games, because that's what this game seems to relate to the most.
