I had no idea a ds remake of one of my favorite childhood games existed. This is true to the Nintendo 64 version and is even expanded quite a bit. It’s a wonderful nostalgia trip and I’m glad I was told a little about it by the staff at Oswego NY

The game is fun, a clunky but charming game

A fun game to take on the go, even though the story mode is confuseing, and some track layout could use some work. It is a fun alternative to mario kart.

It's An Ok Remake From The N64

I used to have this game. I never played the original N64 version because I wasn't alive at the time the original DKR first came out. I grew up with this remake. The graphics are ported from the original, which is great. The new character's voices are cool. The tracks remade for this DS remake is ok. The music is so much better than in the original. They do have a Wifi mode, but the Nintendo Wifi Connection system got shut down for the DS and original Wii, so that's too bad. I never played this game online before, too. Overall, an ok remake for one of the best selling games in 1997.

    Classic Game, New Twist

If you have played the original Diddy Kong Racing on the N64, then you're definitely gonna like this. You probably notice many things that significantly changed, like different voices (it's been like almost 10 years between the original and the remake), some of the Kong family members replacing Banjo and Conker, the tracks get a slight makeover, and some hidden challenges. On the downside, the voices for the racers can be a bit off, the juggling the use of button to touch screen can be annoying at times, the music rearrangement can catch anybody off guard for veteran gamers, the current lack of Nintendo Wi-fi for the older DS games can make things difficult, the versus tracks have been removed in place of the custom tracks, and the balloon challenge can be frustrating at times for beginners. The good thing about the game is that it has a good amount of content, like upgradable vehicles to improve speed and control, more original tracks to give gamers a good exploring, and customizations to make the vehicles and portraits to your own imagination. All in all, it's too bad of a game. It definitely can give the Mario Kart games (Mario Kart 64, then; and Mario Kart DS, later) a run for the money. Good for adventure racers.

A Nice Racing Game, but Not The Best.

I recently was looking back at my old games I've owned and I stumbled across Diddy Kong Racing DS. As a youngster, I never came past the first area, but after returning back to it, it seems very easy for the first world. Don't think that this is a easy game though; it's gets evenly hard even when you're in the 1 world or two. This doesn't make this game hard though, just challenging in some parts. Overall, I think that this game is a very fun racer and has a deep adventure mode that will keep you active for hours. Though you've got the pros, this game also will have questionable plot twists, and repetitive boss battles.
