Product Description

The bulk of Custom Robo Arena takes place in holographic battle arenas called “holosseums.” Players pit their Custom Robos against one another in fast-paced, melee-style combat. Each Robo can be outfitted with different parts, from arm-mounted guns and bomb launchers to specialized pod weapons that have their own unique behaviors. Some pods pursue the opponent, while others lie in wait for the enemy to draw near. Players customize their robots by swapping out weapons, legs and body frames to create the ideal combination of attack, speed and defense to suit their gaming styles.

Outside of the battle arenas, Custom Robo Arena plays like a role-playing game in which players walk through the futuristic city setting and interact with other characters as they struggle to win the Custom Robo championship. The multiplayer aspect pits two players against each another in the holosseum. Battles can be played using Multi-Card Play or Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection and, if only one player has a gamecard, using DS Download Play. Special powers/weapons/moves/features: Each Custom Robo is made up of a number of distinct parts: a body, legs, a gun, a pod pack and a bomb launcher. Each of these parts provides unique abilities. For example, guns have different ranges and effects, bombs have different blast radiuses and pods have different behaviors. Any part can be attached to any Custom Robo body. Players construct their ideal fighting robots and then take them into the holosseum to fight. Battles are a combination of the player's skill – not only at fighting but also at designing a superior Custom Robo.

  • Custom Robo: The sport of tomorrow. In the not-too-distant future, competitors battle customized robot warriors in holographic battle arenas. Victory is determined not only by fighting skill but also by how well Robo Commanders design their robot gladiators, so players need both brawn and brains to survive.
  • Players explore a sci-fi landscape as they fight toward the Custom Robo championship, powering up their Robos as they go. With tons of unique parts, there are literally millions of possible Custom Robo combinations, giving players complete control over how they fight their battles.
  • Players can challenge their friends to one-on-one Robo battles anytime and anywhere using either Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, Multi-Card Play or DS Download Play.
  • Players use the touch screen to customize every aspect of their Robo, including its weaponry, and then polish it up after every battle to bring it back to top fighting form.

A DS classic. Custom Robo is a game series that most do not know about but can still enjoy with its simple and addictive gameplay. Has a good mix of an anime-like story while still mainly focusing on the gameplay.

This game is incredibly hard to find and the mechanics of the game is quite difficult and takes a long time to figure out.

This was one of my first ds games, and it was very fun. I recomend this to hardcore gamers since at times its very hard.I was young when I got it, but now im a pro. Story is, your new to the town, and you become a commander (A person who controls robos). You buy parts for your robo to make it even more strong, polish it, and battle with it.The game was very interesting with the plot unfolding. You become much better at the end of the game.Finnaly, anyone who loves a fun RPGs with robots, and customizing this is the game for you then!!! :)

When you first take a look at this game your first impression might be to think it looks pretty cool and fun. Well your right. This game is one of the few DS games that might interest you. Its story is pretty cheesy, and when you first start it you might get the wrong idea about the game. But let me tell you right now, when you get into the combat mode it's pure addicting. In this game, as you progress through the story you get new parts so you can keep building on your robot. When you get far enough into the game you can make your very own, unique, special robot. There about forty bodies, guns, and pods. Although there are only a few legs. This game took me about a month to complete. The good thing about this game though, is that you can't really beat it. After you win the Robo Cup you return back to your hometown and you can level up, buy new parts, go to new places, and meet a few new people. And you unlock a new mode/challenge called grudge matches. And once you beat one-dozen of those you unlock a new place called the underground were you can by new guns, bodies, pods, legs, and even stages. And don't even get me started about the multiplayer because it's pure awesome! And it has download play enabled so you can battle your friend only having one game card. Then there's something that makes the game 100% better! Wi-Fi! That's right, now you can battle anyone in the world and even talk to them using the mic on the DS. So overall I say grab ten bucks, find a game store near you, and GET THIS GAME!

So i got this to try it out. The customizing your robot thing seemed cool. Walking around is just bad, and i never know who the bad guy really is because there isn't one till the very end. I only like the fighting. Maps are small but they are tiny robots in you pocket. The only problem with the guns and bombs and such is that i never really found a weapon that clicked. Buy all weapons for money is no problem and you find out that all weapons either shoot slow, do no damage or absurdly turn to the right. They say that the weapon takes enemies out of cover, but from experience, they dont use cover. The final boss is a little impossible (I admit i did use the action replay for it) cuz it can turn invincible for a short time, and though you can too, your robot becomes "dirty" and you start being slow and defenseless. The games was okay and had its own style but if i were to do it again, i probably wouln't have bought it.

this game is somewhat looked over. people think of it as a game with horrible graphics , has a horrible story, and isn't worth anything but the multiplayer (which is great). well im here to tell you that they are mostly wrong! the graphics i can defiantly agree aren't very good... at all, but the story i say is great! lost of turns that are rather predictable but still surprising! Ive restarted this game a good 8-9 times just because i wanted to try different ways to go through the story! its really fun to try to get good with all the kinds of robos you possibly can! the multiplayer i haven't played too much cuz... im stuck with wired internet! but the local is great! my brother got this game and we both liked it alot! this game i will strongly recomend for any fan of Custom Robo fan or people who like fighting games!

This game lacks a lot, as far as story goes. Easily beatable within a week, if you've got time to spare. Storyline - Story mode isn't long. It's not too difficult either, though some matches may take a few tries. Sound - Music is decent, but not amazing or horrible. Sound effects during fights aren't bad either. Controls - Controls are easy enough to learn. This is NOT a button masher. Most weapons have cool down periods, so they can't be used constantly. Length - As I said, story mode is lacking and short, but the WiFi enables this game to have lots of replay value. Interface - It's easy to find anything you're after, in the interface. Challenge - I found only a few challenging matches during story mode, but WiFi is where this game shines. You're sure to encounter challenging players through WiFi. Graphics - walking around town, it's not too impressive, but the fight scenes are all 3-D and look amazing. This game really shines in it's multiplayer WiFi mode. Thousands of part combinations, play styles and players to go head to head with. This game should be in all DS libraries of users who enjoy fighting/action/multiplayer games.
