Pros: leveling bakugan is better and more ability cards
Cons: takes away some good concepts from the first ds bakugan game and still doesn't fix last games problems
This game is only worth renting
Here is some good new concepts about this game. You can level up your bakugan by winning battles and then max them out in that level by training. There are a total of 5 mini games that do that and gets gradually harder. Can increase mental power by correctly answering trivia questions, playing with your bakugan in 3 mini games, and collecting tokens in the training area. Each bakugan can have up to 5 ability cards equip to them. These were all a move in the right direction.
Some good old concepts they got rid of is character customization (maybe because someone complained they couldn't be a girl character). No multiplayer, team battles, and battle royals. No more decks or field cards. Can't move around on a playing field when you fight against your opponent and no more mini games when you in gauge them. All of this really hurt the game and to top it off. They didn't fix any of the last games problem. Like being a short game, little replay value, and no difficulty setting? Just ouch! It could have easily been a 10/10 game.
This game could have easily gotten a 3 or 4 with justifiable reasons, but since it was still enjoyable. It slides by with a 5, but to fans of the last game or hardcore gamers. Just stay clear of this one unless you want to get that collectors toy... New casual arrivals will enjoy their rental!
