Product Description

A New Evolution of Harvest Moon!Hiking your way through the mountains one day, you become caught in an unexpected snowstorm, and find shelter with the help of a faint voice. When you awaken, you find and help a kindly Harvest Sprite buried under the snow, who tells you all of the seasons in the valley have vanished except for winter. To return all 4 seasons to the valley, you'll need the help of the villagers, the Harvest Sprites, the Harvest Goddess, and even the King of the Underworld! You've never played a Harvest Moon game quite like this!
  • The first Harvest Moon game with a fully three-dimensional setting, allowing players to dig, stack, and till the soil any way they like! Build bridges that can help you reach places you couldn't reach before! Dig waterways creating beautiful waterfalls and rivers! Players can customize their field and living space in any way they see fit! From a field full of tulips like you might see in Holland, to a valley filled with water like Venice, the choice is up to you!
  • New and innovative controls! With Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley's context-sensitive controls, players won't have to rummage through their rucksack anymore! If you have an axe in your inventory, there's no need to equip it! Just stand in front of a tree, and push the A Button to chop it down! No equipping necessary!
  • Players can choose whether to play as a boy or a girl, woo their favorite bachelor or bachelorette, get married, and start a family! With deep, emotional events, players will want to get to know all the inhabitants of the Lost Valley!
  • Reinvented crop and animal systems! Discover new kinds of crops depending on where you plant them – for example, high on a hill, or low in the swampland – they may mutate into a completely new kind of crop! In addition, each animal you raise will have its own personality, and will develop special skills that highlight the strengths of their personality!

This is Harvest Moon in a poor attempt to mimic Minecraft. I returned it the same day, and should have read about the game before even purchasing.

Enjoyable. I enjoy it as much as the Harvest Moon games. I am playing on a 2DS so I can’t say how the 3d effect is. The graphics are fine.

Terrible

It's too slow paced, you can't upgrade your stuff, there are no festivals -- it's very lack luster. Save your money and buy story of seasons.

Obviously not a true Harvest Moon

This game has horrendous graphics and while graphics do not make a good game it still gives the impression that I'm playing a knockoff flash game or maybe an un-upgraded Gamecube or Ps1 game reformatted for the 3DS. The graphics are comparable to Magical Melody or A Wonderful Life. Story is whatever, as with all games of the series it's minimal and more or less the same. The crop mutations are quirky and interesting, I'll give them that, even though it makes no sense it was a good spice up to the standard system. The rabbits and sheep are nothing to sneer at; they're adorable. Chemistry sounds like a suggestive name for Heart Level or Affinity, it sounds like a poor translation which wouldn't be too surprising since A New Beginning had two sets of fish with the same name in the North American release. It has a very slow and very tedious start up and while A New Beginning has pretty much the entirety of the first Spring as a tutorial it compensates for it in the first Summer and has very open-ended and varied gameplay. It's no surprise this game bombed and I'm glad I didn't buy it day one. I certainly will be purchasing Trio of Towns the day it releases however.

I love Harvest Moon Games. I played the original all the way up to New Beginning, across at least three platforms(counting all the ds's as one). This hurt me. The graphics were a bare few steps above minecraft. There was little to no instruction whatsoever. No hints as to what you should do with your time besides run around and knock trees down and rebuild the landscape. That all takes a lot of time too; the in game timer will span a day in the normal way of Harvest Moon games, meaning nowhere near real time, but much too quickly to get anything useful done in a day in this world. And things like sickness and tiredness will still affect your character, just like the other games. I just wouldn't play it.
