The world is ruled by the Divine Dragon Naga, with a fondness for humans, and the Fell Dragon, Grima, destroyer of humans.
Prince Chrom of the Halidom of Ylisse and the Shepherds, his personal militia, find you collapsed without memory. They help you to your feet, so you join them on their journey.
The Risen, undead soldiers of unknown origin are plaguing the land. A mysterious warrior wields a second treasured Falchion, which should not even exist.
The neighboring theocracy of Plegia is populated by worshippers of the wicked dragon. Are these troubling events connected somehow?
As you fight alongside Chrom and his Shepherds, you are pulled into a major conflict that will change the world forever.
Move your units along a grid-shaped battlefield and devise the perfect plan of attack. You'll need to account for terrain, weapons, and warrior classes. Even the personal bond between allies can sway the tide of battle. Every decision counts?and any one of them can mean the difference between victory and defeat.
The Support feature lets two allies standing next to each other fight together as a team, strengthening their bond as they converse and build a relationship on the battlefield. This allows for enhanced abilities in a single turn?and the more they converse, the greater the enhancements.
Selecting Pair Up when next to an ally puts one unit in the same square as another, into rear guard position. This pair will then move together throughout the entire battle. While the rear guard unit cannot attack, his or her presence increases the front unit's stats, and the two units can switch positions during battle.
As you explore the World map, you'll come across a variety of foes who are not connected to the main story. Fight these enemies to level up, change classes, and improve your characters' overall skills quickly. Since battles do not affect your primary quest, you can return to them again and again, building up your abilities and creating the ultimate battle-hardened warrior.
If two players each have a Nintendo 3DS system and copy of the game, they can join forces to fight in Double Duel co-op mode. Each player forms a team of 3 characters from their own roster, and collaborate to defeat their foes in a tournament-style battle.
Use StreetPass communication with another player to exchange up to 10 of your own characters, including a My Unit character (your customized character), and selected My Teams. You can also scout the team leader from the opponent's team*, challenge their team to battle, or purchase items from them.
* Only My Units from opponent teams can be made into allies.
By purchasing additional maps, you can access episodes outside of the main story. Keep checking back here for updates. * Additional maps can be downloaded from the game's Outrealm Gate once you have reached a certain point in the story. * A Nintendo eShop balance is required to purchase additional content.
The prince of Ylisse and descendant of the Hero-King. While of noble blood, he also leads a militia known as the Shepherds. His strong conviction makes him a fine captain. The most likely to break things.
Chrom's tomboyish little sister, the princess of Ylisse. With nary an ounce of nobility in her personality, she is among the most likeable and approachable of the Shepherds. The girl most likely to snort.
Holy ruler of Ylisse, and older sister of Chrom and Lissa. An extremely gentle and kind person, who believes in peaceful negotiation even when her kingdom is threatened by invasion by Plegia.
Chrom's lieutenant, an Ylissean knight who is sincere to a fault. He tends to demand tremendous effort for seemingly trivial things, and prefaces such experiences with a grin. The fondest of starting fires.
A swordsman raised in Regna Ferox, where Khan Basilio has vouched for his skill. While cool and curt around most people, the very sight of a woman turns him beet red. The deftest potato peeler.
The mysterious masked knight who identifies himself as the legendary hero, Marth. He also carries the legendary sword, Falchion, which is supposed to be the one-and-only sword Chrom owns. He suddenly appears from nowhere to save Chrom and the others.
A no-nonsense, capable Shepherd with a mouth that would make brigands blush. Ylissean women admire her strength, and call her The Woman to End All Men.
The last one you want cooking.
A sinister mage in service to a dark power?the fell dragon, Grima, whose coming heralds the end of everything. His scheming sets the world on a course to destruction.
Chrom's future daughter, a kind and just princess who has made it her duty to save the world. She loves her father and would do anything to keep him safe. The least likely to get a joke.
