Only good for the look. This item is only good to look at. It isnt even remotely functional.
Light is too dim.
The way they reflected lights down to the lenses blurs everything else.
Lenses were "fogged up" on purpouse. So its hard to see out of them.
Just all around a disappointing product.

It's a startBeing 40 bucks quality is not high. I'm not a fan on how the light works, when you turn it one in a dark room you really cant see well and taking photos with the light on will not turn out well. But it is a start, hope to see a better one in the future and a new splinter cell game as well.

Awesome Third Echelon GogglesIgnore the low star reviews. I understand their frustrations; These were supposed to be delivered late October. Instead, they began deliveries in early December. Aside from that, these trifocal nightvision goggles are awesome. I am using them for my Sam Fisher cosplay. It's an excellent prop with such a low cost. It even makes the activation sound you hear from the video games. There is a speaker on the bottom part where you'll hear that sound. You'll need 4 AAA non-rechargeable batteries to use & a screw driver to unscrew the sides for the 2 battery compartments. There's an adjustable strap so it can fit comfortably on your head. These are not true nightvision goggles. Highly recommend for cosplayers, prop collectors & fans of the Tom Clancy Splinter Cell video games. Enjoy.

Cool novelty but expensiveThese are a cool little novelty or collector piece but overall doesn't have much in terms of features to justify the $40 price tag. It is wuite litterally 3 green leds and a small speaker that makes the classic camera peeeew* noise from the games. Thats about it. If you have the extra money to burn or want it as a collectors piece I say go for it but don't expect it to be very high quality.

About what I expectedLoved the product. I ordered it in September and it suffered multiple delays causing it to arrive in December. The goggles themselves have a loud speaker on them, making the classic power on sound able to be heard throughout the room. The straps on them are easy to adjust as needed so you can get a good fit. The goggles are able to be seen through, but it is difficult if not impossible with the lights on as they positioned them towards the users eyes rather than towards the lenses. The top lens is a bright green flashlight that I have blinded my friends with more than once, but the bottom two are low lit in part to the issue I pointed out earlier which when in darkness is disappointing to see the goggles not glowing as bright as in the game. One top of that the goggles aren't too comfortable to wear. The rubber interior sits nicely on the face, and top of head, but wearing it for long periods of time causes lots of sweat as to be expected and there is no padding where the users nose would be so expect extreme discomfort when wearing for longer then 15 minutes. I would recommend this product for long time fans of the series and cosplayers.
Are they actually night vision like the goggles that came with Modern Warfare 2 or are they just a prop?
Asked by: Plou
They are just a cosplay/collectors prop. They are not actual night vision goggles.
Since you mentioned them, the NVG’s that come with Modern Warfare are not real goggles either. They are a cheaper version of simulated night vision. Actual night vision goggles cost way too much money to package with a cheap video game box set.
