Child of Light

Features

Envisioned as a “playable poem” by its creators, Child of Light is a modern reimagining of our childhood fairy tales.

Set in the magical world of Lemuria,Child of Light takes us on the coming-of-age journey of Aurora, a young girl struggling to save a lost kingdom and her ailing father.

“Come, tuck yourself into bed
Let me tell a story.
Of Lemuria, a kingdom past
And a girl born for glory.”

The daughter of the Duke of Carniola is transported to Lemuria, a mysterious world that needs her help. Identified as the Child of Light and granted the power of flight, she takes on the minions of Lemuria's Dark Queen in her quest to recover the sun, the moon, and the stars to return home. Along the way she'll discover that her destiny may be far greater than she ever dreamed.

“Beware the night, Child of Light.”

Level up to upgrade your stats and use your skill points to unlock unique abilities for your character and your party members.

A deep crafting system allows you to combine gems to improve your sword, talisman, and armor abilities.

Each game has a unique gem profile, meaning that gems common in one player's game are rare in another's and vice versa, encouraging the community to trade gems with friends.

  • A Playable Poem

In an homage to The Golden Age of Illustration (Arthur Rackham and Gustave Doré), Child of Light invites you to discover a forgotten kingdom skillfully hand drawn and beautifully rendered with watercolor thanks to the UbiArt Engine.

Complemented with a story carefully crafted in verse and rhyme, and an original soundtrack by composer Cœur de pirate, the breathtaking scenery of Lemuria extends an invitation to explore a long-lost world.
  • The Rich World of Lemuria

Across your journey through Lemuria you will encounter many eccentric creatures, from spirits of the forest, talking mice, wicked witches, and evil sea serpents. Discover a vast land with iconic locations and exciting dungeons that will evolve as Aurora regains the stolen lights.
  • Classic RPG Turn-Based Combat

Child of Light utilizes an Active-Time Battle System, allowing you to fight alongside the firefly Igniculus and other members of Aurora's party.
  • Solve Puzzles and Search for Mysteries

Using the power of light, Aurora and Igniculus must work together to solve puzzles involving shadows and movable objects.

Beautiful Game!

This game was great, it reminded me a lot of Dust on Xbox 360. I got this game and 100% it after playing it 16 hours straight. Very addictive game with great art, music, and funny story line written in poems and rhymes. However after playing it once you are pretty much done, no re-play value.

The game itself is visually stunning. The art style is definitely one of its high points. the combat while not too in depth still has some minor complexity. I am not sure it will have lasting appeal as I do not feel an urge to replay this game anytime soon, but it is definitely one to revisit again in the future. Just as a warning if you buy the download from the website that you only get that base value. You will have to buy more money for the tax that they system charges at purchase. Luckily I had enough left over from prior purchases to cover this.

A Beautiful Atmosphere!

The gameplay is straightforward, the story is wonderful, and the art style is beautiful. I couldn't stop playing this game! My only problem with the game is there isn't a whole lot of replay-ability once you've finished the main story. It's still worth a play!

Just got done with my first boss battle - I mean you can't get a more epic starting experience. This game is in my top 3 for all the released xbox 1 games so far. This game is a mixture of a platformer, and a rpg. The fights are turn based and really intricate. From focusing on slowing an opponent, heaing youserlf, gathering wishes, and attacking or defending from foes. The game is smooth and no not just the graphics the details into how puzzles (which aren't too over the top (smart)), and the way the npcs, and system interact with the players controlled avatar. 9.5/10 I hope we get many sequels or continuations I hope next one is a little more dark and maybe with a male protagonist.

This game is very well crafted, but it feels pretty short. It has a new game+ but there is no achievments for that.
