I now believe what i have been feeling since TW 2005. Felt like this franchise has just been slipping into the deep end year after year. 06, 07 were decent enough but 08, 09, 10 were terrible and now 2011 is just an abomination all over again. The dialogue is the same drull garbage as the last three years, the crowd animations are exactly the same as the last three years. The fairways and greens are just as bad and so it the water. Also, whats up with the charactor customization? Its like they force you to have to use the Photo game face. And the ethnicity part of it is extremely stereotypical. The controles to make your face and body the way you want are still clunky. The voice is still trash. Oh, and they took out the Tiger Swing animation and added hockey swings etc. They also added focus and true aim and they are not good. You run out of focus off the tee shot and dont get any more until the next hole. It still shows commercials. I hate those. And now you buy your stupid looking equipment and clothing with experience points. Also, the training in the beginning is just nails on a chalk board. The narrorator cant put enough diabetes in his comments on XP. So where is the good you ask? I have not found it yet. This game is flat out mediocre. And shame on this publisher for destroying the TW franchise.
This is my second golfing game. The other was junk and I returned it! This one is cool!
There are many things wrong with this game. From creating a player, to earning experience, it's just bad. The way you earn money and the way you gain experience should be separate, right? Wrong. In this game they combined the two, making it very difficult to purchase items from the shop, when you feel forced to use it on your attributes. Another problem is that gaining experience is very difficult. Unless you complete every Skills Chalange, which I recommended, it is almost impossible to afford the larger shop items The only real way to gain any experience is beating Tiger's last putting challenge, which becomes very tedious and boring! There's no fun in doing that and you get bored very quickly. You would normally think that over time you could eventually achieve the perfect golpher. But no. You are forced to purchase items you don't even like in order to make your golfer better, so you end up looking like a poser! You have to plan out which items to purchase in order to have even attributes. If a shirt helps out your balance, it will hurt your swing speed. So you can never have a perfect golfer. Clothes are no longer just about looks in this game. There is also this mysterious password section, and if you look it up online, you find no answers. They should not have the experience and money be the same thing, and overall I say no to this game.
Ok, so i buy this game only to have my brain ripped out of my skull trying to figure out what the heck they did to this franchise. I have bought, watched and played every TW game to date, all the while saying to myself, man, this game is getting worst and worst each year. And i was right. This game is an abomination among sports games and i cant find a single thing worth mentioning about this game that is remotely good. Its all garbage. From the creation of a player, to the selection of your accessories. All of it is trash. Its like EA doesnt even care about us Golf fans anymore. Quit trying to make a game so flipping complicated trying to make every single person happy, and make a game that works would be my best hunch. Seriously though, all they added was the Ryder Cup and thats it. This game is the prime expample of a franchise in the gutter. With the exception of NHL and NCAA. I dont see EA doing well for much longer. Give up a portion of the rights to NFL and PGA and let some one more capable try and make a game. my goodness.
This is the most unrealistic golf game I've played. Yes, the graphics are good. But during every round you end up dealing with winds up to 25mph, and it always rains at least once. That's not reality. And the way the wind affects the ball is incredibly inconsistent. It's a joke. Sometimes an 8-10 mph cross wind barely affects the tee shot, and sometimes it blows the ball 30 yards or more. This is just a terrible game!
