I love pretty much every aspect of this game; the characters, dialogue, cutscenes, story, even the fanservicey bits become part of the charm. They're not too in depth, but they're all a lot of fun, which is ultimately what Bayonetta is all about. Combat on the other hand is very in depth and where this game shines brightest. Admittedly this game can be very difficult and comes with a learning curve; the game itself doesn't really teach you the finer details of how to play, most notably the dodge offset feature which is critical for getting good scores and straight up surviving later levels. I'd recommend looking up youtube tutorials. Once you do learn to play well though, the combat flows beautifully and you feel powerful and unstoppable. Combat consists of punch and kick combos, powerful combo finishers, witch time which slows down time when you dodge an enemy attack correctly, there's a variety of weapons to equip on both hands and feet besides the guns, and a nice assortment of enemies that allow for varied gameplay that never bores. Levels are replayable and you're scored each "verse" of a level based on damage taken and a combo score, but even if you rank low, in my opinion gameplay is its own reward and it's fun to learn more about the game and how to play it better. It is a little on the hardcore side, especially with "Hard" and "Non-stop" difficulties, so if you're a more hardcore gamer there's definitely challenges to be had, but I myself am hardly a hardcore person and still have had a lot of fun with this game on normal difficulty. PS3 version is also not the best experience; graphics are slightly worse, loading times are long and the game can lag at times. Performance issues haven't stopped me from having plenty of fun though, so if you only have a ps3, I say still go for it.

I had only been mildly interested in Bayonetta until its sequel was announced, which looks incredible. I, like many others, have heard the horrors of the PS3 port, but once you download the patch and install the game, it runs beautifully. The gameplay is fast and fun, with tons of moves you can buy and alternate weapons you get along your journey. The music ranges from upbeat battle themes to epic boss tracks, always matching the action onscreen. The story's a bit confusing, but Platinum has filled the world of Bayonetta with an extensive and intriguing lore that makes up for it. Can't wait for Bayonetta 2!

Bayonetta is a unique game that doesnt appear that often, and I would like to share my experience. The story is fairly lengthy depending on what difficulty, but their are alot of issues that keep it from being a great action game. The story is told between cinematic cutscenes and a script layout with a voice actor narrating, and I wasnt a fan of story. Bayonetta herself is a very visually impressive character, and other characters are noticibly pretty well done too. Enemy types are constantly changing, so the game doesnt give you that repetitive sequence in enemies and their are different ways to take them down. The game sometimes take a frame-rate drop and has very annoying load times, which is something I heard was only on the PS3 version. The loading times can take up to a minute, and really broke me out the experience. The gameplay is what makes the game really worth it. What makes Bayonetta to unique is that you can customize where her weapons are placed and this can lead to a series of different combinations. There is also a learning curve when it comes to Witch-time, which is something Bayonetta can do to slow down time to solve puzzles and fight hoards of enemies. This game is very unique, and you will have alot of fun with it, but it really needs alot of improvement. Hopefully whenever Bayonetta 2 is released we will witness a better gaming experience.
