This game has good bones. This is a turn based RPG with a well developed battle system. But the story is boring and does not make a lot of sense on account that it is based on some 9 issue comic book written back in 2001. I have never read this comic book series, so much of the story is cryptic to me. I also did not even hear about this game until 2 years after it went to market. There is one major flaw in the battle system: you 6 characters but can only 3 characters at any given time (you can’t swap mid battle or mid dungeon). The only way to change your characters is go back to the inn and characters only earn experience when participating in battle. I will point out that you do not have to power up all characters and can complete the entire game with the same set of characters all the way to the end. I recommend Calibretto (healer/tank), Garrison (Warrior DPS), and Knolan (Mage DPS with healing abilities). Two major issues: 1. Very slow loading speeds which I find strange given that the graphics are mostly 2D and not very sophisticated (I would compare the graphics to a low tech version of Trine). 2. It crashes a lot! But I recently made a discovery, when the PS4 is NOT connected to the internet the game stops crashing. I find this strange too because it is not an online game. The only “online” feature is the updater that runs when you first start the game which is redundant because the PS4 automatically checks for updates on your games.
This is the perfect light RPG for someone with little time to play. It is light and the art is top notch. I am absolutely loving this in my little bite size bits that I can play!
This ia a great TBRPG. The mechanics are very straightforward and offer a multitude of ways to approach each engagement. The characters are rich and creat a complex enough narrative to keep you wanting more. Theres lots of ways to upgrade your characters but not so much you feel overwhelmed with a burden of knowledge. Really great game, and I highly recommend it.
I have the PC version, and I love it. They are currently ironing out some of the bugs for a patch next week, but so far I am absolutely enjoying this game. I hope to see more from this franchise and studio in the future! :-)
Picked this up and is worth the price. Love the battle system mechanics, art, and sound. Only slight issue is sometime crashes but has auto save so less chance of losing a lot. Would like to see more from this series.
