Not only for Digimon fans! On one hand it looks like an extrem high quality 2D Anime. On the other hand when the camera moves forward or around a corner the whole scene is actually 3D but in Anime style. It’s crazy Quality! The story is captivating - I really wished there was more Digimon games on the Nintendo Switch! Definitely a must buy not only for Digimon fans!
Digimon Survive takes everything Millenial Digimon fans loved about the original seasons and dials it up in maturity and tone. Set in a different world from previous games it has the same, "kids got summer camp only to end up whisked away to a world full of fantastic monster" core that the original anime had. It becomes apparent that the game will live up to its name shortly into your adventure. It is a quest for survival, where every choice has an effect on your outcome and the survival of your friends is up to you. The visual novel style game play features gorgeous art, while the grid-based tactics combat can be challenging and fun. The only downsides , gameplay-wise, I see are the dialog segments can be very long, the combat can be very sparse in parts, and the system for decision making is not well explained. Also another minor issue, for me as a Digimon fan, is that there are only a little over a hundred Digimon to unlock/evolve, I bigger roster would have meant even more replay value. Over I say 8 out of 10, a must play for fans of the genre.
It’s like the original digimon game, where you train different traits in the digimon to hopefully get them to evolve into what you want but aren’t really to sure what you will get
We're sorry to hear that Digimon Survive wasn't as innovative when it comes to the different concepts. An email will be sent to assist you.
I like digimon, but I couldn't get interested in this one. Its slow, more visual novel than game, and you can't change the audio language. There's some weird graphics things going on, and the battle mechanics really need streamlined.
I loved the story, it was very engaging and good gameplay. Its a solid game overall.
