When i bought Shadow of Mordor the game had already been out for at least three or four months. So, by the time i had received it to play for myself, i had shared some gameplay at my buddies' houses, heard about from friends, online, twitter, things like that, so i expected very little out of this game, however when i first played it for myself on the PC it was ten, possibly twenty times better than i thought. First, i was worried about the Graphics. Being a first time PC gamer, i was paranoid that i would be dissapointed of the graphical quality of this game, but i was greatly surprised with it. The particles, textures, animations and everything was amazing, and there isn't a thing i would change about any graphical matter for this product. Secondly i was worried about storyline. I was very worried that the story, would not enough tie into the well known portion of the lord of the rings, (movies, books, and such.) However, i was very pleased with this, as i was able to connect many themes and aspects from these books and movies to this game. Thirdly, not only was i worried about the lord of the rings feel to the storyline, I was also worried about the general quality of the storyline, this game being mainly centered around graphics, combat, and world design. I was not at all let down by this story, as it was tied off very well, and devopled excellently throughout. There are two extremely minor things i would have changed about this game, no more no less. One, i was not fond of the default skin for Talion, the ragged black cape and furry lining, i would have much rather been assigned the dark ranger skin as the default skin, however this had no effect on my appeal for this game overall. Secondly i would have liked to see more of a relationship between Talion and Lithariel, as their encountering was fairly short in the story, i feel like more of a connection, or maybe even a strong relationship like Talion and Loreth would have improved things, and no i am not saying that in any manner to seem like a pervert, i say this because they were very bland in terms of eachother in the story. I greatly would recomend this game to Hardcore, experienced gamers with lots of time on their hands, because this masterpiece is pretty addicting.
This game is incredible. The gameplay is very similar to Assassin's Creed. The main quest line is very fun, and the "bosses" are very fun to fight. There is so many executions in this game, and each and every single one is super epic and awesome to watch. I have found though, that if you are not questing it can get very repetitive. All in all, this game is fantastic, and i would absolutely recommend it to anyone.
