Game storyline: Donkey Kong sets out to prove he's king of the jungle and beyond. He rampages through lava caves, savage seas and crazy locales like a ninja-chimp fortress. Only when Donkey Kong defeats all the kings of his world – by boxing with apes, rabid warthogs, ballistic elephants and giant birds – can he call himself king. Players who traveled the lands of the original Donkey Kong Jungle Beat will notice some changes to the kingdoms, such as additional enemies and obstacles, plus features like Skull Stones, Shock Spheres and classic Cannon Barrels. In addition, new monkey friends appear on many levels. Helper Monkeys give hints about how to survive the kingdoms and score more bananas, while Checkpoint Monkeys let players restart from midway through a level with their checkpoint banana total intact. The game also includes two surprises at the end: a boss-rush against all the Kongs and a victory feast for Donkey Kong once he has become the king of everything. How to progress through the game: Players run, jump, swim, battle, swing on vines and collect bananas as they explore beautiful side-scrolling environments that span volcano caves, snowy peaks and fantastic skyscapes. Players also must hitch rides on parrots and killer whales, bounce off pinball-like obstacles and battle tons of bizarre enemies. Players collect bananas as they go, but the real trick lies in building up combo multipliers. This is done by linking different mid-air moves like vine swings, backflips and wall springs to avoid returning to the ground. If players sustain a combo in mid-air, all bananas collected during the combo are multiplied by that combo, which leads to much higher banana scores. Characters: Donkey Kong, little monkey pals and ridable animal friends, like the wildebeest Hoofer and killer whale Orco. Dozens of outlandish enemies, like bloated Bumblebuzzes, speedy Ninjapes and the runaway-train-like Iguanagons. Special powers/weapons/moves/features: Players control Donkey Kong's running, jumping and banana grabbing by using the control stick and buttons. Motion controls turn a player's hands into Donkey Kong's hands – moving the Wii Remote and Nunchuk gives the realistic feeling of grabbing vines, boxing or unleashing a powerful sound-wave clap.

 B. GPG Coverage: This GPG will provide for one-time replacement of the software covered by this GPG in the event of a Failure not covered by insurance or any other warranty or service contract.
 Term: The term of this PRP, if applicable, shall begin on the date of purchase of the covered Product, as indicated on Your sales receipt, and will end on either the twelve (12) month anniversary or (24) month anniversary of such date, as indicated on Your sales receipt for a new Product. Lots of challenging obstacles and wii controller action moves for a kid.  I’d guess 8-10yr olds would be bored; but it’s a solid game - got used.

If you have DK returns you will get the Gameplay right away.This game was made in 2004 for Gamecube but was remade for the Wii in 2009.DK returns was made in 2010 or 2011.The Music was Weird! The Grapics was like DK returns.Overall it's a 8.7! Ps: DK fur is darker in this game than in DK returns.

This game brings some serious punch to Nintendos lineup. Swinging high above the treetops, swimming in tropical seas and running through icey caverns - and oh - did i mention the absolutely epic boss battles?! This game is not exactly "classic" Donkey Kong, there are plenty of mario-ish moves like the ground pount, wall jump, and back flip, but it is a stellar game nonetheless. If you crave a more classic experience, DK Country Returns is your game, but personally, i love this game. Only gripe is that it is much too short... Definitely worth your purchase if you like DK and/or Mario games!

My Favorite Game of All-Time, Donkey Kong Jungle Beat. I have never played it for GCN, Bongos looks fine, but I heard about it by the "New Play Control" Lineup of Games. With some changes they made, it came a Great Concept for a comeback. While the Story can take under a "Day", theres always Replayability by getting 3 Crests (4 in Original) each Level unlocking more Worlds along with Extras like a "Boss Battle" (Kongs only). Gameplay is very Fun with Platforming with Combos with the Kong Battles as the Best Part of the Whole Game. The Controls are well for the Wiimote. The Game Engine is Fantastic by "Nintendo EAD Tokyo" of the "Tokyo Development Group" which also did "Super Mario Galaxy 1/2" seeing how Fluid Gameplay represents, 2D is always enjoyable for Donkey Kong. Lots of Worlds, great Replay Value.

Delivery time was outstanding (within hrs of order), however, the product quality was lacking. I was immediately disapointed upon viewing the disc, to see that it was filthy. doesn't anyone inspect these before shipping them out?, or for that matter inspecting and cleaning them when they are received initially. After cleaning the disc I did notice a lot of tiny scratches all the way around the outside edge. So far though it doesn't seem to be effecting the game play or graphics at all. I do like the game itself and noticed some changes to the format compared to FH1. So over all I give the total experience a 4/5 stars.

“A lot of fun!”- per my 13 year old son.  He loves transforming it over and over again.  These larger figures are still interesting to him at 13, taking some of the attention away from electronics (which mom loves!).

Is this game compatible with Windows 10 ?? And is it downloadable?

I'm not a normal game user; I'm not a gamer. I got SimCity because I wanted to see how different urban designs would look from a bird's eye view, and how they might play out over time.
But while SimCity can achieve this to some extent, its rules, instructions, and mode of play are aimed more at a gaming experience than at a design experience. For one thing, one person would never operate a city by oneself. So if you don't want to be overwhelmed, you have to play it slow, and there's always the possibility that something random will happen that will upset your design. 
This is one of the best city builder games out there, but it falls short as a real urban design game that will allow a designer to experiment with different ideas and get realistic outcomes.

More Game than Simulation

I was so exited for this game, ever since I had sim city 4 I wanted a great predecessor which EA tried to do on the DS but do to a lack of processing power fell short for me. Then I heard around New years that there would be another Sim City and it was better than the original, it was getting game of the year honours from everyone, so i thought well if it is getting these awards it must be good. I pre ordered it and downloaded it to play but the servers weren't ready and there was no offline mode to begin with, so i waited and waited for about a week for them to come up. When they did it was a total disappointment, First you can't customize the region, Second the city sizes are a lot smaller, and lastly money goes away to fast when your mayor the only way you can make money are casinos. So overall very disappointed in EA and for the old sim city 4 fans stay away from this game it will tarnish your opinion of the original.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS GAME

A good game that's very fun, I don't know why so many people hate it. If you like strategy, then get this game. its a little hard though.

the best simcity yet.

It's sad that there are bugs in such a great game, but take two things into consideration. One is that this is an EA game. EA is notorious for being a cruddy company when it comes to servers, connection, etc. The other is that at the time of this review (and the bad reviews before this) it's still fresh out of the gate. They have fixed many problems, and are working to fix more. The bugs and such can get obnoxious, and frustrating, but they are bugs, and this is still a great game.

A big issue that many have with SimCity, is how small the area is. it's 2k x 2k areas. It gets frustrating. I mean if you have ore in your city, u will probably focus on mining. To get only 130k an hour, u must have 3-4 ore mines, and 4 or more trading depots specific to ore. These 8 buildings alone take up about a quarter, aka 25% of the entire map. It's hard to fit everything in. You need a hospital, police station, all schools, sewage, water, power, etc. It's very difficult to cram that all into one small city. However you building in a region. Each region will have 4-16 cities. So you can focus one city on say power, that provides to other cities. Another city you can focus on school and technology, which you can trade to other cities. I feel if the cities were 4x as large, it'd be balanced. It's still very possible to make a largely successful single city, but a pain, and very unlikely if not aided by other cities.

My biggest pet peeve is water. You can spend 300k on a water plant, that charges 2k per hour, only to suck up all the water oout of that area, forcing you to destroy the entire water plant, and build it somewhere that does have water. It makes sense water isn't limitless. But here's my issue. many maps are connected to water. Aka rivers, lakes, etc. There should be a water plant that can be built on, or in some way fed by the natural water source. Aka a limitless source of water. The way that it is, no matter what you do, you eventually run completely out of water. Yeah you can build another city to specialize in water and sell the water to that desert city, but the specialized water city will dry up soon as well. You could build all 16 cities one at a time sucking up all the water, but eventually all cities will dry up, aka be useless, forcing you to start over. Power is renewable. Sewage is basically poured into a black hole, if you have a big enough plant. Garbage gets burned, etc. Water is the one thing that ruins any long games/aka high end cities.

The region mode is a good idea. I love playing with friends. It's a pet peeve that the in game IM does not work, forcing you to use some other game chat, but they should fix it soon. EA is excellent about making a great game with tons of bugs and flaws, then quickly fixing the major ones, and at least half of the minor ones. Be warned, this game requires a connection at all times, like MMO's. No subscription, but a "Region" is basically a server. Without the server there is no region, without the region there are no cities, without cities you can't play. So if you have no connection, or want to play on the bus, in a car, on a plane, in the mountains, etc, you won't be able to.

All in all I've spent at least 20 hours in this game. I really hope they fix the water issue, as that ruins any game. Even if you've spent well over 1000 hours building all 16 cities in one region, the inevitable drought will ruin all of that work. However the game is still fun. To those that are new to SimCity, think of Monopoly, but completely in depth. You must provide water, police, fire departments, schooling, transportation including buses, planes, trains, passenger trains, ferries, etc, manage taxs, create residential, and have high upkeep so residential improves giving you more rent, create industrial for the residents to have jobs and improve education so industry can provide more expensive tech, create commercial so that residents can buy things with their hard earned money, make tourists attractions for tourists, mine things, import and export supplies, trade with other cities, etc. All that said, that's just the tip of the ice berg. Almost anything that would effect a real life city, and would be required for a real life city to succeed, is in this game. You can make a Las Vegas casino city, A New York city full of high skyscrapers and tourist attractions including giant expo centers, mining towns, etc. They say "you can do a little bit of everything", i'm sorry but that's a lie. You might be able to do a VERY little of two or three things, but not everything. Why? cause you can't cram it all into one city. You're forced to cram it across several cities.

Another pet peeve, though not as bad as the water issue, is disaster prevention. I like the disasters, makes the game more realistic. However there should be disaster prevention. Example, you should be able to make a military base, which can destroy the Godzilla before he does a lot of city damage, as well as the invaders. Department of science could study earthquakes to better understand them, so that buildings will be more earthquake resistant, and earthquakes are less likely to happen (video games version of prediction). etc. When a disaster there is no "send in the army" or "How can I make it stop." You're forced to watch as it happens. The only part you have a say in, is dealing with the aftermath of the disaster.

One thing to note, is that your first city will struggle a lot. Or at least at first. Until you have other cities in the region, it's hard to get far. Example? You can get to say level 5 technology in your city, but it effects the entire region. So while level 5 tech requires almost half of an entires city worth of taxs, and area, the other cities won't need those buildings, but will still have level 5 tech unlocks. So I can't stress this enough. The first 5 hours you'll most likely want to throw this game out. Stick with it, and it will become fun.

Right now yes this game is at a 6/10 roughly. However this is a permanent review, and I feel like EA will fix it enough to be a solid 8/10.

Alright, so I played the demo...so some may find my review 'null'. But I am going to try and be fair here. People are giving the game horrible reviews mainly because they haven't been able to play the game yet due to these horrible connection issues. I will admit that this horrible service and launch does deserve to bring the game down a few points. This 'always online' stuff is horrible for the single player. BUT I think someone needs to step up and actually talk about the actual gameplay. From playing the demo and watching videos gameplay, the game has been simplified a lot in terms of UI. This is a good thing! It is easy to construct roads and zone areas. You can add landmarks and even add additions to things such as hospitals and fire stations. When you can actually play the game, it is fun and addicting. The multiplayer component is pretty neat as well in terms of sharing resources and creating a whole region with specialized cities. Each city can be specialized in many ways - you can make a gambling city, educational city, industrial city..etc.

Yes, this game is horrible right now because many can't even play the game. It is an outrage and shame on Maxis and EA for letting this happen. However, the game itself, aside from the internet issues, is fun and addicting! If these online problems weren't happening, I would have given this game a 9/10. However, I am giving it a 7/10 because it is still a good game overall...but this 'always online' stuff has to stop..I did cancel my pre-order but I will pick up this game in a few months when I know these problems are fixed and hopefully when there is a sale going on for the game somewhere. :)

The graphics are top notch. At first I though I was watching the actual TV Show. The gameplay is so immersive i get lost in an alternate world of beauty when I lay my hands an the controller. It's brilliant. Ask your self, are you ready for this gift bestowed among mankind, crafted by the digital tools of angels in heaven. If you are, than buy this game. You will laugh, you will cry. You will cheer. and most importantly, you will never regret. Wheel of Fortune is one for the history books, men. Bought for my son whom loves Sonic.  He's played most of the games and while I think they mostly are not really great games, he loves them.  Not so much this one though.  Generic Sonic stuff with nothing new to offer.  He really did like the bonus baby Sonic keychain though!
