Preventive Measures

Updated 11/25/20

Dear GameStop PowerUp Rewards Members,

This holiday season, online shopping and shipping volumes are expected to be at an all-time high. As a result, we anticipate the holiday-shipping cut-off date to be earlier this year due to the heavy volumes.

Just like you, we know how important it is to receive online holiday gift purchases on-time. To help you avoid any delays in receiving your purchases, we encourage you to shop GameStop early this year to ensure that the video games, home entertainment and pop culture merchandise you purchase arrives on time.

To help make things more convenient for you, we’ve taken the following steps to make your shopping experience stress-free:

  • Shop in Easy Mode: We’ve enhanced and the GameStop mobile app to provide you a safe and contactless shopping environment by accessing our Delivery@Door, Buy Online Pick Up In Store, or Same Day Delivery services. Learn more at
  • FlexPay Packages: We’re making it easier for you to purchase holiday gifts this year through a variety of payment options, including the GameStop Credit Card; Layaway; Buy Now, Pay Later; Rent-to-Own; Trade Credit; or GameStop Gift Cards. Visit to learn more about our payment options that provide you the flexibility to pay for your merchandise at once or over time.
  • Coordinating with FedEx: We’re working diligently with FedEx to keep a close watch on our daily holiday shipping volumes to avoid as best as possible any delays. Our goal, and theirs, is to deliver your purchases as quickly and efficiently as possible.
  • PowerUp Rewards Member Communication: We will do our best to provide you the most accurate estimates of delivery times on when you can expect to receive your merchandise. Because we anticipate heavy shipping volumes and not being able to guarantee when your purchases will arrive, we are temporarily discontinuing our expedited shipping option. Should we encounter any unexpected shipping delays after you order, we will notify you via email

Regardless of how you want to shop at GameStop, you can access all of our great Black Friday deals and other holiday offers by visiting, our enhanced GameStop mobile app, or one of our more than 3,300 store locations. As a reminder, our stores will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, but will open early on Black Friday at 7 a.m.

All of us at GameStop sincerely appreciate your business. We wish you and your family a happy and safe holiday.

Power to the Players,

George Sherman
