Why GameStop is excited for Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield
Nintendo will finally release its first complete Pokémon adventure for the Nintendo Switch with the release of Pokémon Sword and Shield this fall, and it’s only the second time the longstanding series will make its way to the home console.
This time around, the developers at Game Freak will bring players to the Galar region, a large, narrow strip of land that’s inspired by the United Kingdom. In fact, the upcoming RPG will even include many landmarks that were inspired by some of the United Kingdom’s most notable. In the center of the Galar region, players will find a steampunk-inspired city containing Pokémon gyms that look like mega-sized football stadiums.
Your goal, as the player, is to set out as the hottest new Pokémon trainer in the Galar Region, with one thing on your mind: facing off against Gym Leaders around the region to hone your skills and become the greatest and strongest Pokémon trainer known to man.
Introducing the Galar Region: The Galar Region is heavily inspired by the United Kingdom, and it has different types of terrain, including snowy mountains at the top, water, grass and more – allowing you to discover and capture all of the new Pokémon.
Team Up Online: Team up with up to three other trainers online to take on more powerful Pokémon.
Customize Your Look: Players will have more than just tops and bottoms to customize this time around, including backpacks, hats, hair, and more.
Enjoy a Pokémon Camp: Feel like hanging out with your favorite Pokémon pals? In Pokémon Sword and Shield, you’re able to party and cook up a variety of different curry! You can also stop by other players’ camps or have up to four players gathered at your own.
Pokémon Sword and Shield is currently set to release on November 15, 2019 exclusively on the Nintendo Switch. Buy them separately or together in the Double Pack, which releases the same day.
