Black Ops IV jettisoned Call of Duty's traditional narrative campaign in favor of a stronger focus on online multiplayer. That change introduced new modes along with a battle royale called Blackout. We loved this mode, but the campaign was undeniably missed.
Modern Warfare brings back Call of Duty's story in a big way with a campaign that is not quite a sequel, but also not quite a remake. Iconic Call of Duty mustachioed soldier Captain Price plays a major role in the game, however.
2019's Modern Warfare represents the series' biggest graphical, technical, and potentially maturity leap in years with hyper-realistic graphics and a story that aims to represent war in a realistic light, as opposed to a bombastic hero's journey as it has been in the past. Call of Duty: Midern Warfare releases October 25, 2019.
