Electronics Trade-in - Android

It’s upgrade season! What are you going to do with your old Android devices? You can now trade-in your Android devices to receive cash or trade-in value you can use towards a new console, the hottest blockbuster game, or upgraded accessories.

When you decide it’s time to retire your old Android device, bring it into a GameStop location and a GameStop team member will assess the condition of your smartphone. When evaluating devices, there are three categories that a device can put into: Working, Damaged, or Dead. A Working device will have no software issues, no missing parts, no cracks or dents, no water damage, and a functional screen. Working devices will receive their full trade-in value, but Damaged and Dead devices will receive reduced value based on their condition. You can get up to $350 when you trade in your Android smartphone like a Samsung Galaxy or Google Pixel device*.

To ensure that you get the most trade-in value for your device, make sure to follow these instructions:

  • A Charged Phone: A GameStop employee will need to evaluate your phone’s hardware and software, so make sure it is charged prior to coming into the store.
  • Cables and Cords: Be sure to bring along any old cables or power chargers for the device.
  • Wipe Your Device: Be sure to remove any personal or sensitive data from your device.
  • Keep Your SIM: Take out any SIM Cards, memory cards, or other items that didn’t come with the original phone.
