Seated, with one leg kicked out and one knee bent, an always cool and collected Spike Spiegel is caught mid act as he gets ready to light a cigarette with a grey zippo lighter. Wearing his usual blue suit, his hair is carefully sculpted, while a flame is visible on top of the lighter. This beautiful, detailed, window box takes inspiration from the scene where Spike’s ship runs out of power and he lights a cigarette accepting his fate. The window box shows a first person view from the pod inside the ship, with detailed controls looking out over the empty, cold, lonely depths of space. Faint cigarette smoke floats behind Spike as he takes a drag, savoring what could be the last moments of his life. The interior is designed after a height measurement backdrop, simulating those seen behind captured criminals.
