I am a collector and I really enjoy the MCU action figures line!!
Great quality. Figure is huge and goes perfect with my collection.
Awesome toy, incredibly well sculpted. WAY over-priced, tho.
I love it, it is a massive and very well detailed figure, it may be a little pricey but it is worth it
Do not under any circumstances try to force a joint to move because you are almost certainly going to break something if you do. If a joint won't move, just use a hair dryer to apply some heat that joint until you can move it without an excessive amount of force. You will probably have issues with the knee joints the chest diaphragm, and the ab crunch being stuck but any of the joints can be stuck. This isn't limited to this toy, it's common for a joint to be stuck on action figures and using heat on a joint like that will prevent something from being stressed and/or breaking. There are three major flaws with this toy: The first issue is that it's not in 6" MCU scale because, it's not 18" tall. That wasn't going to happen at this price point though nor with it being entirely translucent plastic. However, at roughly 13" tall the toy is still imposing and looks great next to the McFarlane New 52 Swampthing (the exclusive variant with the antlers). If the two of them ever find The Power of Wind and The Power of Water (insert obvious theme song here), whatever they summon will wipe out humanity and restore the planet by taking pollution down to zero. The second issue is that the side lateral shoulder raise articulation is terrible. This is because the toy was sculpted with large bodybuilding bowling ball shoulders which the CGI didn't have in Ragnarok. They only way to fix this is to cut away a substantial amount of the plastic on the shoulders so that all the extra material doesn't strike any of the rigid upper torso plastic near it. You will essentially end up with a bit of a plateau on the side of the shoulder along with a lot of unpainted plastic as well as an exposed shoulder hinge as well as that hinge being looser from no longer being almost fully encased in a slightly soft PVC. Cutting any plasticized PVC also results in it being more porous. I don't think it looks bad with the plastic cut away as Surtur looks like magma and rock and fire but, it's you might feel differently so proceed with caution. You can always shave/trim down the sides of the remaining plastic to decrease the look of the plateau and, you'll have to do that on the left (your right if face to face) shoulder because it's substantially larger than the other shoulder. The third issue is that the arms can't hang down parallel to the sides and the legs are always in an A-stance. There is absolutely nothing that you can do to fix the arms because, the shoulders are slightly sunk in like most of the recent female Legends characters (e.g. Rogue, Dazzler, etc.) which results in the biceps always hitting the lats and resulting in an A-stance. You would need some sort of spacer between the shoulder and the upper torso and then the toy would be far too broad shouldered even if you had cut away a lot of plastic on it to fix the side lateral shoulder articulation. You might be able to fix the hips always being stuck in an A-stance but you would need to remove them to see what the issue is it's most likely a poor soft ratchet design) and that's not a good idea with everything being translucent plastic. With the flaws out of the way, let's get to what was done right: The plasticized PVC is a lot more rigid than I was expecting. A lot of characters wind up having really rubbery joints and/or limbs but, this toy doesn't. After using heat from a hair dryer on the knee joints, the chest diaphragm, and the ab crunch, this toy doesn't feel fragile which is a huge surprise given that it's made entirely out of translucent plastic. However, I wouldn't put it into a position where it could fall over because that's not going to end well as the toy also has some weight to it. The sword is pretty rigid and I expected it to be really soft and warped so, I'm thrilled that it's not. The eyebrows of doom (crown/horns) on the head however is super rubbery but, that's going to prevent it from accidentally being snapped off and it retains its shape well (it doesn't droop/sag/warp). This toy can look really dingy/dark/dull but it comes to life with any bright light placed behind it because all of the plastic is translucent. It would look amazing if they could have found a way to have LEDs inside of it on the core pieces but, articulation and aesthetics would have suffered from the electronics that would be required. Lighting and shoulder issues aside, this toy has a great sculpt and it's imposing even at roughly 13" tall. I didn't have any loose/floppy joints but, that's always a case of getting lucky with RNG. If you're ok with the engineering/aesthetic flaws, it's a great toy. If you're ok with making modifications, it's an even better toy. If you're not ok with the engineering/aesthetic flaws and don't want to modify it, you an always wait for a newer version which might not ever be made. It's hard to imagine that Surtur won't ever receive another toy though and the Ragnarok character designs are still extremely popular so, I can't really recommend his toy. I don't regret the purchase because I knew about the flaws prior to making the purchase but, I'm not sure that I would have bought it in hindsight because of how much plastic I had to remove from the shoulders to give them the minimum amount of acceptable side lateral shoulder raise range of movement.
