Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance
The Beginning of a New Era....
I First Played This Game in 2005 on the Gamecube. It was Good but It wasn't as good as the Xbox Version. The Graphics are Better. I definitely recommend this product to anybody. AMAZING!
Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance is definitely in my top 5 'Best MK Games Ever' List. Thre is a ton of old characters (Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Sonya, Jax, Kano, Raiden) and a few new ones (Blind swordsman Kenshi, evil oni Drahmin and the vampire Nitara). The Arcade mode is as good as ever, fight a string of fighters, fight the sub-boss ( The Oni Moloch) and the the boss(s) (Shang Tsung, Quan Chi) After them you can see your characters ending, which is a video that tells what happens after the character wins the tournameant. Fun huh? After you finish Arcade mode you may notice that you have collected a whole bunch of diffrent colored coins along the way. These 'Koins' are the currency of the game. With them you can go to the 'Krypt' witch is a graveyard full of 'Koffins'. Inside these koffins are 'Koncept Art', New Characters (They're not all unlocked at the beginning) alternate costumes for your fighters, and much more! The game has a lot of replay value because of how much stuff you can unlock. There are also two practice modes: Practice and Konquest. Practice is where you can fight a brain dead player that does nothing. So you basically pound a dummy that looks like a character. Konquest is where you select a fighter and learn there moves. You learn moves and combos from the kombatants two fighting styles (Examples: Tae Kwon Doe, Ninjitsu, Ba Gua), weapon style (Exaples: Kali Sticks, Katana, Sai), special moves, and Branch Combos (Which are annoying combos that alternate between the chracters three styles). Konquest is very boring after a while though. The two incentives to play through all 218 missions is the money you make for each mission, and that you unlock two more characters (I won't say who). Mortal Kombat also has a fun two player mode called Versus. Which is two players fighting each other. One cool feature, that I believe is absent from the next game, is the Wager System, which is where both players can bet koins on who wins the match. Some things that I don't like about this game are the graphics, (which are outdated by todays standards) and the controls, which are a little unresponsive (Especially during branch combos!). Unless you are a fan of MK, you probably won't care about the story. The music is very good and fits the mood of the game and you can set the challege level from easy to hard and to parents: YOU CAN TURN THE BLOOD IN THIS GAME OFF! That's my review, I reccomend this game to anyone who likes fighting games, or is a fan of the MK series.
An awesome but outdated game.
Mortal Kombat has always been a favourite of mine since I had my Sega Genesis, and always loved to play the new ones in the arcades.(mk1 mk2 mk3 mk4) And Mortal Kombat Deadily Alliance is a must have for fans. Sure the game is outdated, but it handles just like Mortal Kombat V.S. DC universe game for 360 and PS3. The Konquest mode is a little boring, more of a repeating training then anything else but it helps you unlock more characters. The Krypt Option, Where players buy videos, characters, costumes and pictures is too big. over 600 different things to unlock. The gameplay is well balanced with two fighting styles and a weapon style. Special moves are easy to pull off and the finishers are bland. But this game is still a must own for any fighting game fan or mortal kombat fan.
