Xbox Live Arcade
Xbox Live Arcade games are easy to buy, play and keep on your Xbox. Whether you are looking for a quick five-minute game fix or longer gaming fun, Xbox Live Arcade offers something for everyone.
How It Works
Xbox Live members simply insert the Xbox Live Arcade player (DVD format) into their Xbox console to access a menu of games. Members then shop, sample and purchase games right at home from their television. The games are downloaded directly to the Xbox hard drive and are available for unlimited use. Charges are billed directly to a member's Xbox Live account.
You must be an Xbox Live member to fully utilize the service and download, demo and purchase new games as they become available.
How to Get It:
The Xbox Live Arcade player is available for free [shipping and handling charges may apply] directly from Microsoft at www.xbox.com/LiveArcade. For limited time, Xbox Live Arcade will also include a free copy of the arcade classic Ms. Pac-Man.
Game Categories
Xbox Live Arcade will be adding new games on regular basis so it's always fun to check out what's new, and remember all the games on the service have a playable demo. The major game categories are:
* Retro Arcade
These include classic arcade titles such as "Dig Dug," "Pole Position," "Galaga," "Joust," "Defender," "Robotron" and "Gauntlet" from publishing partners such as Namco Ltd. and Midway Games Inc. Retro arcade titles are true to the originally designed games for coin-operated machines.
* Card & Board Games
Your all time favorites such as poker, hearts, spades, backgammon and chess.
* Puzzle & Trivia
Take your brain to game gym with puzzles like "Bejeweled," "Zuma," "Hexic," "Fuzzee Fever" and "Mah Jong Tiles."
