Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
Quite possibly the greatest game ever created
This is the game that came before the recent Oblivion. In my opinion its even better than oblivion. Oblivion has better graphics and better combat system but thats about it. You cant beat Morrowinds epic world. full of so many possibilities. You have about 20 factions you can join such as Mage, Theives, Fighters guilds. A few religous guilds, some factions of the local governments and even a few vampire clans each with about 10-20 quests that you can take and each one of them takes some time to complete. Some of which will take you hours to complete one quest. and thats not even counting the main story line quests. so there are at least 200 quests to be done. The world is huge. It will take you about a week just to explore the entire island without doing any quests. if you like RPG's this is the grand daddy of them all
Best Role-Playing Game EVER!
This game is great I just love it! It is a great open world with an awesome long story mode and even when you complete the story it has a very high replay value. even the first time you beat it there are still tons of side missions. It is impossible to get it all the first time around because there is just so much to this game! I suggest this game to any Role-Playing Game lovers or people in search of a game with a high replay value. There are plenty of characters you can be for example a dark elf and there are many classes like Assassin and you can pick from birthmarks like "The Shadow" or "The Warrior". So you can have any character possible. Also you can level up tons of skills that can make you stronger faster sneaker and luckier. As you level up these skills you total level raises. So as you can see by this game review this is a very good game with endless adventures and quests and a very high replay value! GET THIS GAME!
ok, its not oblivion but....
This was my 1st elder scrolls game and it kicked tail. It had a few minor setbacks like the combat system. if you've already played oblivion, then when you play this, you'll know what I mean. IIt is hard! This game challenged me much more than oblivion. The fighting is nowhere near as good as oblivion and neither are the graphics, however just as oblivion, it is so long I've never completely beat it with the same character (I have the game of the year edition, which includes 2 more worlds.) I highly recommend the GOTY edition. If you decide to get this game DO NOT USE CHEATS ON YOUR 1ST PROFILE!!! It completely ruins the difficulty and makes the game so easy that it is almost blasphemy. It's ok to have a profile with cheats but in order to get the entire experience, stay true and stick it out there. Now also, using mods on it will not take out so much difficulty as the cheats but mods do somewhat ruin it. Again, keep another profile with mods cuz mods are just freakin awesome.
Hardcore RPG fans, here you go.
This game is amazing overall. As my first game in the Elder Scrolls series, I was awestruck by the beauty of the sights and sounds of this game. To be honest it was my first RPG aswell. Compared to Oblivion, Oblivion doesen't hold a stand of hay against the might this game contains. There are so many quests, ruins, unmapped settlements, and more to explore. There are so many factions and guilds to join it's dizzying. The graphics, even for it's time of release, weren't quiet up to par, but then again if you're a stickler for graphics than this game isn't for you. There are many different weapons and armor that you can combine to make a custom set, you can even enchant these items and make yourself into a magically powered warrior. There's s many spells, and you can even create your own spells to smite your enemies. The main quest may seem tedious but it's end-game fight is challenging and fun. I have to make a WoW reference here... But in the mighty words of Illidain Stormrage; YOU ARE NOT PREPARED... Maybe... Haha.. Anyway, compared to TES4, this game is amazing. Oblivion looks pretty, but this game is true RPG beauty.
Best Game Ever!
Morrowind Elder Scrolls 3 has been a favorite for many years. The game has vast landscapes with untold amounts of hidden treasures and secrets. I have played this game since its release and I would have to say that the gameplay, sound track, and all of the different choices and directions you can take is astounding. Many of the current games are very limited in which you can do in the game. Morrowind allows the player to explore the world right after the player makes a few selections to which he/she wants their character to be. This is far better than the Oblivion game that was relesased for the 360 version. It has more side missions and more guilds. For example: Mages Guild, Fighters Guild, Thieves Guild, Morag Tong (Assassins Guild), Imperial Legion, Temple, Redoran House, Hlaalu House, Telvanni House, there are many hidden side quests like find hidden temples, help mercs, bandits, and there are even 3 Vampire clans you can be apart of. Even then you still have the main mission and the updates you can get through the Game of the Year edition in which you can become a werewolf. Thats not all of the quests! To say the least you will never run out of things to do!
BEST GAME EVER!!!
well, i must say this game is awesome for the veteran RPG gamer. it has great sound, graphics, and a very lengthful storyline. this game has got it all! the map is so big. ive had this game since 2007, and i still havent explored half the map! there are a few flukes in the game but it is still very fun.the sound is amazing, it feels like your acually there. and the graphics are so life like. with the changing weather effects, it makes a truely aesome game. some days it may be foggy or rainey, or sunny! for a game made in 2002 its amazing. i ve played oblivion, and morrowind is still alot better. the storyline is amazing also! with lengthful quest that could take hours, to quest that will take minutes. it is one of the best games i have ever palyed in my life! and let me tell u, even if your new to RPGs or have played them for years, you will love this game!
Great Open World
I enjoyed this game a lot. Like the other reviews, the combat is very challenging and the character is difficult to control sometimes. The open world play makes up for everything bad about this game. If you enjoy deciding what you want to do, this would be a great game for you. The graphics are a bit disappointing. This game uses skill levels to increase you character as you play. There are strength attributes, magic abilities, and stealth based skills to build. As you explore the land, you will encounter numerous enemies. Collect the items that you find and from the enemies you defeat. There are great treasures to be found that can be worth a lot of money or they may increase you or your items with things like armor and potions. Another great thing is that this game is backwards compatible with the Xbox 360.
Endless exploration and questing.
This game is worth every dollar. You will spend hundreds of hours and replay with different characters a great many times. Though the graphics are now dated the environments and architecture are varied and very eye catching. The weather is also very beautifully animated.
Morrowind is a massive open world you are free to wander freely and and at will. It would take hours upon hours to explore the entire game. You came play this game for days and still have an endless amount of content still to explore. While this is one of the many things that make this game great it also work in the opposite way as well. There are fast travel spots at most of the major cities, and you can't fast travel from any were. You usually have to buy a ride or you can get a few teleport spells. You therefor will spend a lot of time walking across the terrain which can become a little tedious over a long amount of time. But the looks of the environment, endless dungeons, wandering monsters and bandits to occupy you while treading the long roads and woods of Morrowind.
You will also find a great many side quests and people you can help while traveling. Along with the open world and endless exploration you also have a very long and interesting main quest line as well as numerous guild quest lines. Though the role playing in Morrowind isn't as in depth in the ways of choice making like the Bioware RPGs such as Dragon Age and Mass Effect, in Morrowind you can pick up anything, steal anything, kill anyone, pick any lock, and speak with anyone. Though you can also get caught.
Sadly along with the truly open world you can easily break a quest line by finding a quest item in a dungeon and sell it. Hours later someone will ask you to retrieve it. By then you will have probably have forgotten who you sold it to. You can also accidentally kill a quest character. If you kill a quest character you will be advised to reload, but as for the guild quests you will just have to quit your life as a mass murder if you want to keep from breaking a quest line.
While doing the major quests you will come across some choices that will add to the replay value of the game. You will also be confronted with quests that you may not carry out if you want to roleplay that in depth.
If you have played Oblivion and Skyrim you will be amazed by the length and size of Morrowind. From the length of the quest lines to the size of the world they generally get shorter and smaller each game.
Along with the length of the main quest line in my opinion is the best. It is by far the most interesting. Though Oblivion's is probably just as good, but as I said shorter.
The environment and architecture is also the most unique. You will find some traditional castles, Victorian style buildings, buildings and towers grown my sorcerers, and shacks and huts.
And to clock out all I've got to say is if you spen the un-godly amount of time to finish EVERYTHING in the game you can get two expansions along with player created content.
Good game, but could be better.
This was the first Elder scrolls game that I got, and I have to say that it is a fantastic piece of work. If you played "The elder scrolls IV: Oblivion" a lot, then you might be a little disappointed in this one. Because the graphics, gameplay, or weapons aren't as good. The top argument I have against this game is the combat mechanics. It is much more difficult to kill a monster or enemy than it is in Oblivion, and that was a major flaw. But the land, and the storyline beats out Oblivion. And there is more factions in this game than there is in Oblivion. I don't mean to be picky here, but the racers (monster) in the game were very annoying. All my other friends who own or have played this game agree, and they don't have them in Oblivion. In the future, I hope they make Oblivions sequel a mix of this game, and Oblivion. Overall grade 7/10.
very Good game
This was my first elder scrolls game.It is a long hard game i would recommend this to a gamer that has a lot of time and patients.
