Wolfenstein: The New Order
It's a decent shooter and the story is really interesting and cool. Don't buy this game for more than 30 dollars because it isn't worth it.
amazing story no multiplayer
Do not get me wrong. This game is amazing as far as the story goes. They keep you going with the suspense, and action. The game play itself should take the casual gamer 20 hours, and that hardcore gamer 10-14 hours. Which is amazing for a FPS. Now after you beat the game is where you notice that there is a problem. You are craving more action and would love to play the game online against some of your friends, and fight with the cool arsenal of guns and grenades in the game. Then you realize that there is no multiplayer at all. In this modern era of FPS games to not have a multiplayer is a massive pitfall that I just cant get past. I mean sure the story is fantastic one of the best I ever played, but besides one story mode choice that changes out one of the main characters (not going to spoil anything) and a handful of collectibles on each level there is just no replay value. For $60 brand new you have to decide if your willing to overlook these problems. I imagine some can but as for me I am sorry, but this is a game that is best bought used on sale for around $30.
I had never played any of the previous Wolfenstein games before, but I decided to pull the trigger on this one when I saw that it is based off of WWII. (I miss the old 1940's era Call of Duty games) Great game, two different main story lines that you un-kowningly pick from at the start which will make me go back through and play it again. Its serious yet whimsical at the same time, sticks to its roots of being an arcade FPS. Amazing attention to detail, like a chest moving up and down as an AI is sleeping. AI is smart, they know when to duck and cover. Unlock-able perks that reward you for your play style. Not an open world game, but leaves enough wiggle room for the players to map out their plan of attack instead of being forced one way. Beautiful settings and a fun plot that is similar to a Quentin Tarantino movie. My only complaint is that I wish the gun movement was a little more fluid.
This is a good game not trash as the other user put it, its just like the doom games or wolfenstien games, if thats what your looking for then you will love it. If you came here for another call of duty or titanfall you wont like it. There is no mulitplayer so the replay value is short. There is two story lines depending on who you save so there is some replay but not much the game should take around 15hrs i would say if you were playing on the hardest difficulty. If you look and found all the hidden items and did both the storys on uber i would say 40hrs total. The game is fun, its very gory and you get to kill Not zs (wouldnt let me put the real word). I love ww2 games and technically its not ww2 but at the same time it is and there is not much out there for that anymore and this game filled my craving. My brother hasnt played a single xbox one game i have and i have just about all of them and he played this after seeing me play. You be the judge for your self go onto twitch like i did and watch someone play for 5 min and you know if you will like the game for yourself.
Very Good Game
I played Wolfenstein when it came to the pc years ago and enjoyed it then! This has a very good storyline, good graphics but could have been longer. Don't buy this for your child!!!!!
It wasn't a bad game good storyline that was very thought out, challenging enemies, and there were some points where I had to use my head. My problems with it was that, there was not much of an arsenal (sure there was upgrades and the cool laser weapon but that's it) , and the campaign was really short. I thought that I was getting into a game that will take up a good amount of my time but I beat it in less than a weak. Also, beside the few times during missions, and the occasional current event paper you really did not get to see much of the outside world. So, unless you are a Bethesda fanboy or just like Wolfenstien I would recommend putting your money toward a different game.
wicked rendition of original!!!
i just got to the part where i was able to enter a nightmare, which allowed to play the original PC, which i had when i was maybe 10, which was enjoyable, except once i died in the original, it wouldn't let me re-enter the "nightmare". ANYWAYS, besides that, it has been a very intense game play, gorgeous graphics and some fun rock music playing when things get amped up. i love the dual wielding. and the intro! it took me almost an hour just to get to the title screen! i hope this is a sign for how long the game will be. Not sure why that other person had such bad reviews, it is one of the best games i've played in a while. Thank you again Bethesda!
Wolfenstein must more be said?
I grew up in the late 80's and early 90's playing NES and SNES as my main choices of gaming but there wasn't a day i didn't bug my parents to let me play Wolfenstein and Doom, having grown up with the original game and all the new versions my hopes were mixed on this one as i have been burned by a few bad Wolfenstein games mainly on the 360 but i played through this game and i have to admit it is one of the greatest FPS games i have ever played, its the 3rd game in the story and its just so beautiful. I and my friend can't get enough of this game and can't stop talking about it its just so good
Are there a few things that people COULD complain about? sure every game has its few and i purposely look for them to complain on the internet about but this game is just so pure fun that i dont care what short comings it has, Bathesda did great by us the fans and know what im sitting on the edge of my seat just waiting for the DLC to come out as i am already on my second play through and having just as much fun as the first
I recommend this game to any true actual fan who grew up with it from their child hood as we are the only ones to truly enjoy what ID and Bathesda brought us, so for those of you who are complaining about the graphics or the gameplay just go play your COD games theres about a hundred of them for you and let us enjoy what we have been begging for for so long
Reminded me of old school shooters like doom, duke nukem, and quake, as well as the older Wolfenstein titles. Great gameplay, story, & characters (B.J. Blazkowicz is one bad dude....) . It is a pretty long game (16 missions) so you definitely get your money's worth and I'd say it has pretty high replay value. Graphics weren't the best I've seen on XB1 but there were times when I stopped playing just to view the scenery. Anyone can love this game, but I believe it takes a more seasoned gamer to truly appreciate what it is and where the series has come from.
Breath of Fresh Air for a Old Series
This newest installment of Wolfenstein is a breath of new life for a series that has struggled since the original Wolfenstein 3D. The story line for this game is interesting and has two separate routes depending on who you let live and who you let die. Combat is a mixture of run and gun shoot em up or you can choose stealth and assassinate your enemies in your way. The Controls are a little clumsy at times but the ability to bob up and down left and right and dart in and out of cover to take shots is very helpful especially when the enemy fire starts tearing your cover apart.
