Rated 2 out of 5 by from This game is hot garbage. Honestly, was so excited for this game when it came out. Played for a month and was done with it. None of my downloaded songs will transfer because I switched my Xbox Live gamertag like most people do when they upgraded to Xbox One and I just don't have any of the old information, so I'll never get the $200+ back on those songs I purchased. Also, I thought Harmonix's plan was to go back to the basics with this one. Just keep guitar solos as is, the freestyle solos take out any difficulty with the guitar, which is what a lot of people play for, enjoying some challenge. And as a drummer primarily, I feel as though the setlist was just so bad. They could've done so much more. Just overall, a huge disappointment. Rock Band Rivals may be even worse though, when that comes out. The future doesn't look too promising for Harmonix if they keep going with this direction for Rock Band.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from ION Drum Rocker isn't supported I wasn't happy with the song setlist this game has, I'm a metal head, and this game surely disappoints. The setlist consisted of about 50-60 songs, ranging from Indie to Soft Rock. To top it all off, my $300 ION Drum Rocker that I bought for use with Rock Band 2 & 3 isn't supported when the manager of my local GameStop told me it was. I'm returning it after class today for hopefully a full refund. I have Rock Band 3 and all the guitar heroes that work just fine on last generation, I'll stick to those.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from pls read before you buy I was crazy excited about this game, but if you are like most gamers out there and dont constantly have people coming to your house bringing their rock band instruments over then do nooooot buy please. Of course its a great game to play with friends, but the game is local multiplayer only, no online at all, only leaderboards. The tour mode consists of you playing the same songs over and over because of the tiny amount of songs they have in a MUSIC game, and you get tired of them halfway through and have already played about 90% of the songs. The game says it has so many songs on it but it really seems like there is only about 50, and the rest you have to buy. I have been an expert player for years (guitar) and I love how guitar hero actually challenges me, but there isnt a single hard song in this game, at least that you dont have to buy. There is a section of about 9 "Impossible" difficulty songs but I played many songs rated 2/5 difficulty or whatever it is, that were way harder than the impossible songs, but still easy. The only challenge I had to face was when the best time to use my star power was or trying to 100% songs, instead of the thrill of trying to pass an extremely hard song (like back in guitar hero 3 or guitar hero WOR). Also, the main instrument to playing the game costs more than the game itself... I have no idea where they chose the songs to put in the game from but there is not a huge variety and the previous rock bands seemed to have more songs. If you are an expert player who loves the challenge that these games can bring to you, then just PLEASE wait for guitar hero live to come out.. If this game was 40$ and the guitar was $20 (not just the adapter for 360 guitars), I would say it isnt a complete waste of money. I played guitar hero games for hours and hours daily and the only part of me that got tired of them was my fingers. I played this game for probably about 6-10 hours so far, and I am so mad at myself for spending $130 on it. That is probably how they get you though, making you spend $70 on the instrument you use to play the disc itself, and making you buy most of the songs you want for $1.99 each, and then the finale, NON RETURNABLE just awesome! I thought that it was going to be a huge step seeing it is the first next-gen rock band/guitar hero game to come out, but the graphics are practically the same as the old ones, and the character customization is tiny (way smaller than any other rock bands), and you can only be a skinny guy or skinny girl. Also, there isnt even a power off option on the guitar for when you want to stop playing so you have to remove the battery or turn off the console overall, and there is no mic slot if you want to be talking to your friends while playing, probably because they wanted you to go and buy the rock band mic seperately so you dont sing with the mic plugged into the guitar, gets them more money. Wait for guitar hero live if you want a music game.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Same solid gameplay, little less customization. The game's mechanics all work and are solid, in that respect Harmonix remains on point. Song selection on disc is alright, not top notch but not terrible either. Band and Character customization needs some work, hopefully we'll see an update to those systems in time. You can make your own character but there isn't much to change about them other than gender, face shape, hair style, and a disappointingly small selection of clothing when compared to the second and third installments. Bringing 360 content over could have been done better, at the moment it's a tedious process, but it can be done which is good. I've played every Rock Band and Guitar Hero game, this one is somewhere in the middle in terms of best to worst. It is by no means a bad game, and it is worth the price if you like the series.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nostalgic, but lazy I went in hyped. I went to download the songs I had previously. I was disappointed from the start. 80% of the songs I had from RB,2, & 3 weren't even there. There was obscure bands and barely any extra music. If anything there's LESS songs on here than RB3. So I decided to take a look at the character creation. Pathetic. You can either be a skinny girl or a skinny boy. With barely any face/hair/facial/body choices it makes me sad. Plus if you don't have the previous equipment you'd be spending over 200 dollars or so. So far everything else is responsive and the graphics are great. I just feel like they were so lazy and/or rushed to release it. That I feel like I was cheated. I hope they add stuff soon.
