Rated 3 out of 5 by from Almost there The sounds of the game make you feel like you are actually at the event that you would got to in real life. They also are starting to make the stadiums a lot better as well. I felt that the new help system was annoying but after turning if off the game got faster. overall this game is still a hockey game so you know what you're going to get from this game. However its a fun game to play your buddy against and its also a nice game to get our child. Overall its a average game and should only be picked up by a hockey fan who wants to play a hockey game. Overall lets home nhl 17 will finally get it all right but I don't think they will.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from You can tell they didnt even try Same old EA garbage. All flash, no substance. Clunky game play. Passing feels like its using the D-pad. Bad AI, the computer is CONSTANTLY committing interference penalties against you with no call. Hyper aggressive and uses tactics that dont resemble the real game. NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO CYCLE. Dont even bother with 'superstar' difficulty. Terribly programmed user team AI. You will have several occurrences during a game where 3+ players are clumped together or your own player takes you out or your own player is following you to get in your way. Lag in online games is pathetic (56kish sometimes.) By the 3rd period of a game all the fun has been sucked out by what is absolutely a BETA build. Last-gen AI was far better. Collision detection with sticks is non-existent. Dont bother. Buy NHL for 360. Its quite clear they didnt try to get this even close to right yet.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Meh. I was honestly disappointed with this game. I love to play NHL, but I personally think it has gone downhill as of the past couple of years with the franchise trying so hard to make it so realistic. The graphics and set up are actually really good. However, the gameplay is awful. It's really hard to win face offs, accurately pass, and protect the puck. The movement also just feels..weird. They tried a little too hard with this one. I actually think NHL 15 is better.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Beautifully Infuriating This game is frustrating. On the surface, it's a beautiful game. The graphics are tremendous, Doc Emrick on the call is wonderful (although some of the calls are lackluster emotionally, particularly with someone who gets as worked up as Doc), and it's still a treat to hear the NBCSN music playing to the intro of a game. But then the game starts. EA, I'm sure, markets the skating as the most realistic to date. It's probably true. At least for the players you control. Turning is difficult, stopping is an all or nothing proposition, and restarting is like skating through sand. Unless you're playing the CPU, whose players just seem to will themselves to certain spots on the ice. They don't ever seem to generate a snow shower. Not stopping, nor turning, or anything. They just start, stop, slow down, and speed up like a RB in a Madden game. While your players are either getting left in the dust, turnstiled, or sent flying past your mark. Defending is near impossible since you can't line up a check in open ice, nor keep up with all the starts and stops of a cycle game. Better get a goalie who can bail you out. But there's still Be a Pro mode, where you can just play as a skilled winger and not have to worry about marking defensively. Except they've made progressing your pro based on how you play. Shooting a lot improves your shot, passing improves your passing, checking improves your checking, but skating does not improve your skating. No, you have to invest your small amount of "practice hours" every week to skating. I invested every single hour I had into my skating for 3 in-game months straight, just to go from a 75 speed and acceleration to a 76 in both. At that rate, it'd only take me about 5 years to become a decent skater in the NHL. And I wouldn't have been able to work on any other aspect of my game. It's ridiculous. I've just about had it with this game. I'd suggest avoiding altogether, particularly with the half second delay every time you need to change anything in their menu system, which they've made completely inaccessible and thanks to the delay, time consuming. Editing lines for a game only took me 20 minutes. I would, however, recommend NHL 14.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not an good overall game This game is yet another disappointment, my home team fans don't even celebrate even if I win the Stanley Cup, also gameplay is not good. Passing is really bad, and the position of skaters aren't good either

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Take it or Leave it. I'm kind of let down by this game. I was expecting it to be a lot more polished then NHL '15 on 360 which I thought was the perfect NHL game. You don't really get any sense of speed or hustle while playing a game, your left to fend for yourself control scheme wise if you want to try and play the goalie. It's poorly executed.Graphics are pretty, but that's it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from COME ON GUYS!!! I was hoping this year was going to be different, I was wrong. Graphics are pretty good but there are just so many problems that haven't been taken care of. Plus, there's a huge bug in BAP where where the length of periods resets to 20 mins and can't be fixed. So unless you want to sit through an hour game it's pretty unplayable. This is honestly the last NHL game I buy.
