the shooting is some of the worst ive ever seen in a basketball game even with perfect stats and spending an hour in shoot around it still sucks dont waste your money

To start, NBA Live 14 is not as bad as all the reviews say. If you try and compare it to NBA 2K15, then yes 2K definitely looks better. However, when factoring in how cheap this game is, the various game modes (e.g. Ultimate Team) and the fantastic soundtrack, then you'll see that this game isn't THAT bad. Being a FIFA player, I hadn't played basketball games in years, so when I had 2K15 I quickly grew tired of it. However, being that NBA Live was so cheap, I have spent more time learning how to play the game, run sets, etc. and it's pretty good. Would I buy it if it cost more than ~$30? Probably not. But, since it is so cheap, it'd be a decent pickup if you're looking for a basketball game. By the way, I have this game for the Xbox One.

I bought this game due to the fact NBA 2k14 was a pile of C$$P how the redesigned the menu and took away features and my career needed to have internet connections. the last thing about nba 2k14 is the servers went down for 3 straight days and couldn't play my career of my gm . I bought NBA live for the fact i love basket ball the game kinda scared me due to reviews sure it needs better graphics sure some time the players just stand the but the bounce tech is awesome and doesn't wear down your stamina when you use it the stealing is allot better you don't get called every time like on nba 2k and the interceptions are more realistic i would say a good round start for nba live but needs allot of improvement but very fun to play will buy next year again.

I purchased my Xbox One today with NBA Live 14 (and 2 other games) I was a little worried that the game is exactly what people made it out to be, it wasn't, EA recently released a patch today to improve there game (that can't be said about 2k) the dribbling mechanics are phenomenal and is easily the best part of the game. Live isn't a pick up and master in 10 seconds game like 2k, you actually have to learn the moves, and controls. The only problem I had with this game is the movement of players, which will most likely be fixed in Live 15, the graphics aren't great but the game play carries it. Purchase the game pre-owned so you can return it if you don't like it. Props to EA for fixing and releasing Live.

Well first off nba live 14 does NOT Suck! Its actually good. As far as gameplay it could be a tad bit cleaner but its a huge improvement from recent games and still enjoyable. The game modes, commentary and ball handling are pretty neat as well. If your a 2k fan its best compared to 2k11 where the games were fun and fast paste. I find as 2k games advanced they have gotten slower (i still love them). So Its nice to see another games on the market that brings different qualities. I think the only reason this games was so hardly rated was because people has gotten so use to 2k its different. Its The Call Of Duty/Battlefield over again. Regardless, Live 14 is fun and if your and NBA Fan BUY IT!!!
Rated 7 out of 10 by Andre1121 Not as bad as people say
Let me start off by saying people are being very judgmental about the game, while i will admit having played both 2k is much smoother and more fluid of a game but when it comes to NBA live they havent made a game in 4 years. With this game it is deff worth taking a look at for those fans who want to play b ball with all the lebron craze, especially at 9.99. the games dribbling is top notch and graphics, player animations such as going for a block are very flawed but overall it is a pretty solid game and fun to play once you learn the controls. I give it a 7/10 cause it is keeping me entertained but does need some improvments in the next installment.

First off, I must say that I do not like 2K sports versions of basketball. While graphically they rock, the gameplay only seems to want big plays and in your face gameplay, rather than actual basketball. With that said, NBA Live doesn't come near the graphical appearance of 2K, but I will put my neck out on this one and say that game play (while flawed) is more enjoyable. With Live, you actually play basketball, rather than just run and gun and get the stars the big plays. I was so upset with 2K when I took a shot with James and he went into an automated sequence from the foul line to do a dunk when all I wanted was a jump shot. Live is far from perfect, it's got some definite room to grow graphically, but has a little more room to grow in the control area. When you first pass the ball in, your guy will do a weird dance and go the wrong way unless you press your turbo button (you get used to this really quick), each player shoots his free throws in his own way, and there's no marker to tell you when to shoot for that player, so much of it is either guess work, or look up that player and watch videos on him. I actually REALLY want them to fix the bad things because this IS a good game. It's got problems, but even with those, I'll take it over 2Ks game. Please, EA, don't give up on this game, and improve for next year.... PLEASE!!!!

This game is not very good. The commentary is just really robotic. It does not play very smooth at all. Player movements make you think the game could freeze at anytime. The team arenas look great until they take you inside them or the game. Very dull and boring i found the game to be. Not one player really shoots like the real life player does. When did Tim Duncan be able to do a reverse layup in the air like Dwayne Wade? Skip this year if you want a good basketball game or wait till the price drops to 40.00. NBA 2K is not amazing but it is still a better choice in the basketball game this year. NBA LIVE is not trash it just is not as good this year. Not $60.00 good

I had this game for literally 2 hours and took it back to gamestop. It is just horrible. I figured I would give it a chance over NBA 2k14, well I was completely wrong for doing that. The graphics are the best part of the game other than that the game is completely horrible. If your playing with created player or whatever you just stand in one spot and the offense does nothing besides the PG holds the ball until the shot clock runs out. The gameplay is just complete trash everything about the game is awful. Will never buy another Live game until they start doing better things. NBA 2k14 is 1000000 times better!

I'm excited to finally have the EA franchise back in full swing! I was worried at first when I heard this title announced since EA has been out of the basketball scene for a couple of years. The video footage looks great, my only worry is that the players all look the same around the legs area. Faces look on point and jersey look very authentic. I'm super excited about BounceTek and how the dribble will be more realistic, over all I'm a big fan of the Live series and I look forward to seeing what this game has to offer!
