Rated 1 out of 10 by DrunkSkitzo Not anywhere close to basketball!!
The games mechanics are laughable!! It can be decent at times playing against someone who knows basketball. But, often you run into people who abuse broken mechanics in the game to cheat.. This game makes no sense in regards to the being images of professional athletes.. Yet they can't do the things those athletes can do (Catch, pass, shoot and move correctly). In all it seems like the same copied and pasted game from last year with worse animations.. Riddle me this how do centers shoot more accurately then most guards on this game from the three point line.? Why do you make more contested shots then open ones.. In my opinion this game deserves less than a 5 rating..

This has become the Madden of basketball. Seriously, they put out absolute filth that gets worse every year because they know that NBA Live is absolute garbage. The gameplay is horrendous on anything above Pro - all the baloney about the CPU being better (instead of making your CPU players worse) on harder levels was an absolute lie. I just finished a game where I had 5 missed open dunks. I don't think that has ever happened in the modern NBA. Also Kyle Lowry had a game with 17 rebounds and 10 offensive rebounds. Also something that has/will never happen. The CPU as always will have ridiculous things work in their favor to swing the score, no matter how unrealistic. Also, Kevin Durant, the cover character, looks like he is a cartoon character in this game. Next year might be my first Live year since the early 2000s....

NBA 2K has become that game that you need to keep on the shelf all year. If you don't see the hard work that has been put into this game go buy NBA Live, and who would do that.. right? 2K has announced the new park with 3 different factions including 3 different areas with so many new features. Pharrell Williams who is a musical genious currated the game and im sure he put some nice tracks on the game. In mycareer you can scan your face into the game itself so no more preset generic characters. They have also created a new squads mode which takes the place of crew and is 110 times better.. trust me. They've created a jordan rec center where there are 4 full court areas for your myplayer to play. You also still have mygm myteam and other features also and 2K sports has yet to stop adding more. Im anticipating this game so much i had to type this review. Thanks for your time
Rated 1 out of 10 by xHadenMVP23 Worst 2K game I've ever played
2K continues to get worse every year without any real competition from Live. The servers on the One are horrendous and the gameplay is just unbelievably frustrating. So many animations, airballed uncontested layups, throwing the ball at the backboard while trying to dunk. ALLEY-OOPS CANNOT BE STOPPED. My friend scored 56 points on me with Gordon Hayward shooting 28/28, all on alley-oops. Open 3-pointers are consistantly missed and the contested 30-footers are consistantly made in your face. Some parts of the game have improved but overall it's just an awful game.

Rated 4 out of 10 by TryOxide This game is not worth $50
This game is broken. Last years 2k14 was way better than this years some how. So many glitches I don't have enough time to type them all. Leaderboard/conference standing do not pop up in game when they say "take a look at the standing". The commentary is broken. Same phrases as 4 years ago. My player is a complete mess as far as upgrading stats. The animations players do on court are terrible. Some of it works realistic as it should, but when you have Dwight Howard going to the rim with nobody in front of him and he does not dunk it. Instead goes for a reverse layup and misses a wide open dunk? The passing is terrible. Point guards just seem to throw the ball in the general direction of someone which results in countless turnovers. 4/10 for me. Companies these days just don't care about producing a good game anymore.

2k14 for the xbox 360 was a fun game. It was a slight improvement from 2k13 and they added in the crew mode which my friends and I had a great time with. Then they released the xbox one version of the game and decided to take out crew mode and online association. I figured that would be alright for this year and next year they would bring everything back but lo and behold they didn't bring either back. I won't be getting this game unless they add a patch or something to include at least one of those two mode because on top of 2k14 being a total waste of my money, not just because of the lack of those modes but also the controls being poorly integrated and everything you did seemed delayed from the time you pressed a button and 2k's servers are ALWAYS god awful. I don't think NBA 2K15 will be the exception.
Rated 0 out of 10 by Kushberry SERVERS SERVERS
2k14 was a good game it had its fair share of flaws but over all was fun to play. The most annoying aspect of the game is online. Getting booted, the courts always messed up no matter the time of day or traffic. Just poor server management. Some twin blade servers with a quality backbone would be awesome. I bet they have a server room full of old DELL and HP pc's all super dusty with the AC barley cooling the server room. (Thats how they perform at least) The PARK. I Dunno 2k allowing people to run around might be to much. People turned the park in GTA and run around aimlessly!!? Bring back crew and random select. You'll be sitting there waiting for a game to start and the last person will just run around like a fool waisting everyones time, because he doesn't want to play with a guy or doesn't like his rating. Rated 1 out of 10 by why2k Servers are so bad
honestly, the game is really fun and the gameplay is probably one of my favorite. I love my career and my gm. But here's the bad part. During most of my my career games, I would be almost finished, and then it would randomly quit without saving. I would be up by 20 points and then I would have to play the game all over again. Also, there would always be an update every time I would turn the game on, but nothing ever changes. Also, a lot of the time the game freezes and force quits. I'm so sick of the service that I might never get another 2k game again. Fix this 2k!
Rated 6 out of 10 by Jeff1997 2k14 is better for gameplay
I was excited for this game to come out and everything was cool, but once I played MyTeam Road to playoffs everything sucked. The shot meter was lagged online and quite frankly I'm not a fan of it. I'd get a B- Slightly Early release wide open with a 90 overall 3PT shooter and miss in the corner. It ticked me off cause I can't shoot for my life, all I can do is drive with layups or dunk and get smashed online this is just terrible I can't enjoy 1 good game online without getting a perfect release online or rather even making a jumpshot people save your money and play 2k14 imo
