Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor
Enjoyable, satisfying and a blast to play!
Normally when I think of a Lord of the Rings game, I don't think very highly. There have been many LOTRO titles in the past that have failed to give many people that wow factor; however, Shadow of Mordor delivers that wow factor where no other LOTRO game really could. The nemesis system implemented within the game offers a very suitable amount of variability in enemies, as well as difficulty. There are times within the game that may get very frustrating, especially early on. Being significantly under powered during this time frame has a drastic effect on how effective you are when faced against hordes of enemies, compared to how powerful you really are once most of your core abilities are unlocked as you play through the game. Overall the graphics style has been done very nicely as the game is most definitely visually appealing. The voice acting within the game is also top notch as well, and all enemies sound genuine to their disgusting cores. 8/10!
A Bad Assassin's Creed Game
People fanboy over this game way too much, it doesn't diserve the praise it gets. First off, it's almost impossible to really get into the story because it's very lacking in one. It pretty much just throws you in and says "good luck, this game is pretty difficult".
I wouldn't recommend this to anyone who has enough time to play it. You're much better off getting into an Assassin's Creed game which are much better in character and a lot more fun in gameplay.
Best LOTR game ever made!!!
Middle Earth:Shadow Of Mordor is such an amazing LOTR related game. the fighting is very much like the batman games-(counter then hit). I am really enjoying this game so far, its so addicting that I cant even put the controller down. overall great LOTR game.
I preordered this game and it is amazing. The nemesis system is the first of its kind and the graphics are simply breathtaking. I do wish more combos would be added as well as executions but the game is pretty open world. It's not one of those "the enemy is out there and you have to find them" type games because for one, the enemy is everywhere and secondly: they will come looking for you. I would hold off on the season pass for now just because there is not much that has been released (still waiting on more DLCs) but the game itself is one of 2014 that should not go without being owned.
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY
Ok so I am a fan of LOTR Assassin's Creed and the Batman games and when I heard about this game I was pretty excited. I bought it and was bored in the first hour. The entire game feels the same all the time, the environments are all horribly boring. The map could be ten times the size of Skyrim and it would still be boring. The enemies are always the same and the nemesis system is not even that great. Seriously do not waste your money buy Assassin's Creed Unity instead it may have many glitches but it is still way more fun than this game with a better story more interesting setting and more things to do. I really do not understand all the praise this game is getting.
Great gameplay, excellent storyline, awesome game
If you are a fan of AC, Arkham City, or Elder Scrolls then you are thinking of purchasing the right game! Everything about SOM will blow your mind once you begin playing. I was so hooked that I couldn't put the controller down for weeks. This game will not disappoint!
Not what I expected :/
When I first heard of this game I was stoked on getting it. Then I saw the trailer and I was let down a little. After I bought the game I played it for a bit and came to the conclusion I would not pay more than $40 for it. It wasn't what I thought it would be. The storyline is kind of lame and the game play was a let down. After about a day and a half of playing it I got bored of it. Would I recommend this game to a friend? No. Only to those who would like to add another game to their collection. I think they could have put more time into the game. I've found glitches after I kill an enemy it will still be talking, happened more than 3 times. This game is not the best I've ever played but its also not one of the worst. I give it a 6 of 10 because it wasn't a total let down.
I had fun with this game which is all that really counts. Lot's of game-play hours involved. The bad guys weren't all that hard to kill once I leveled up with all the perks. You do have to watch your surroundings when tackling Captains & War Chiefs. Fight them off to their selves to level the playing field. You have to use strategy to defeat them which is cool. 25 Orc warriors are a bit hard to deal with at once.
I do like the War Chief 's power struggles. Even after I finished the main story line & quests, those guys are still going at it!...lol.
I recommend it as a newer Xbox One gen game.
It'll give you many hours of fun and challenges.
How a LOTR game should be!
I'm a fan of pretty much most things LoTR, this game ranked up there with probably not just the best LoTR game so far, but an epic game altogether. The story, although generic, is actually entertaining expanding on the LoTR lore and so on. We explore a part of Middle-Earth that isn't seen much in the movies and only briefly talked about in the books. This game plays off the fact that Gondor's empire once span much further than just Minas Tirith and what not. Going into an outpost at the Black Gate. The character is interesting and a good fit, but the one who keeps you there is exploring Celembor's relation to Sauron and so on. The gameplay is honestly more like Arkham City that Assassins Creed as people have stated. If you have played any of the Arkham games it'll make sense because even the stealth is more like that than Assassins Creed. The gameplay is smooth and fun making this a joy to play. The graphics are great although mainly fields the detail on the Orcs and such out weigh everything else. The nemesis system works well making enemies different with more ways to mess with them and take them on. In truth this is how a LoTR game should be with the mixture of story, gore, and just overall grittiness we don't see in other versions of this genre. Hopefully there are more to come from this game, so if you're an Arkham fan or a LoTR fan I'd really recommend this game to you.
NOT ASSASSIN CREED
I got this game thinking Assassin creed meets LOTR, awesome. It is not, as soon as the Game started I ran into the world started fighting stuff and trying to kill thinking this is great. Ran into a few "Leaders" but I fought on. I started getting a little surrounded, I started realizing they are coming faster then I can kill them and I am not killing half of ones I thought I had killed. Needless to say I died...The guy that killed me got promoted for it! I then hunted him down killed him, his men, his children, and his children children... Probably... Truly a great game.
